Mangaluru: The famous Sri Kateel Durgaparameshwari Temple, a revered shrine in the coastal region, is in the midst of its grand annual fair — and a newly released devotional song has become the talk of the town. Titled ‘Appe Bhramariye’, the song has won praise from devotees for its soulful tribute to the temple’s presiding deity.
The track was launched on Saturday morning at the Jyothigudde Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple in Thumbe village, Bantwal taluk, under the banner of Devalok Creations. The release was presided over by temple priest Gulabi Amman, who dedicated the song to the public on the occasion of the Kateel Jatre.
Composed by Srinivas P Sapalya and Ratika S Sapalya, president of Safalya Seva Sangha (R), Mumbai, the song features lyrics by noted devotional songwriter Deviprasad M Devandabettu, marking his 10th offering in the genre. Devandabettu also contributed as singer, director, and actor for the project.
Performance and production:
Vocals are by Soumya K.V. Kallega of Puttur, with choreography by Trupti K.V. Jarandagudde, who also appears in the video alongside Poornima Jarandagudde’s dance sequences. The vibrant cast includes Dhanya, Saanvi, Varnita, Vinuta, Ayush, Charvi, Mohita, Pratham, Moksha, Manvit, Rinish, Pranish, Vidvi, Janvit, Sreetej, Dhruvanth, Hitashi, and Praneetha.
The song was recorded at Glad Audio Recording Studio, B.C. Road, with videography by Swastik Kulal Kanapady, guidance from Harshit Kanapady, and editing by Avinash Poojary. Temple management extended full cooperation, with support from Charan Raj Pacchinadka Prasadana, Nishant Kinnigoli, Priyadarshini Sunil Ambikanagar Bajpe, Praveen M.S. Ballal Bhag, Gurudeep Salyan Devandabettu, Shivraj Jarandagudde, and Sameer Parlia.
