Kajal Aggarwal is entering 2026 with hope, excitement, & an ‘open heart’

Mumbai, Dec 26 (IANS) It is that time of the year when we all tend to reflect on the year gone by and make plans for the year coming. Actress Kajal Aggarwal was also seen doing something similar in her latest social media post.

The ‘Hey Sinamika’ actress revealed that she plans to enter 2026 with hope, excitement, and an ‘open heart’.

Expressing her gratitude for 2025, Kajal wrote on her IG, “So much gratitude for a fabulous year gone by, and stepping into 2026 with hope, excitement, and an open heart…(sic)”.

Kajal’s post also included some snippets from the last month of 2025.

From celebrating birthdays to son Neil’s annual day, to traveling with loved ones, December was full of excitement for Kajal.

“December has been deeply fulfilling- family, love, connection and reconnection, milestone birthdays of the people who matter most, celebrations, Neil’s annual day concert, laughter, tears, amazing work and signed even more exciting new projects, along with some truly beautiful travel. My heart feels full and grounded. Truly blessed to end the year this way,” she added.

Kajal was recently on a fun getaway to Australia with her husband, Gautam Kitchlu.

She treated the netizens with a couple of glimpses of her enchanting experience at the Field of Light and shared how the landscapes of Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta moved her and her husband.

Calling standing before Uluru as almost spiritual, Kajal appreciated the monolith’s calm, ancient presence that encourages one to slow down and take in the surroundings.

“Standing before Uluru felt almost spiritual… this immense, ancient monolith rising out of the desert with such dignity and calm. There’s a stillness here that makes you slow down instinctively, breathe deeper, and take in the world with softer eyes. And then Kata Tjuta – mysterious, majestic, sculpted by time. Felt like walking through a grand natural cathedral. Every curve, every shade of red and gold, felt alive,” she wrote.

How Coldplay’s Ahmedabad concert opened new doors for city’s transport infrastructure?

Mumbai, May 1 (IANS) The live music landscape of India has opened a new dimension. This can be deduced from the recently held live concert of the British rock band Coldplay in Ahmedabad. The live event pushed a part of the transport sector of the country to enhance its capacity.

The Western division of the Indian Railway to its capacity as the organisers partnered with the Western Railway to introduce special superfast trains between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The findings have been documented in the recently released report on the economic impact of the event.

The city’s airport handled 138,000 travellers during the three-day window, including a record-breaking 47,000 arrivals on the first concert day while the local metro system shattered all previous passenger records, demonstrating how a single event can stress-test and validate a city’s entire transportation infrastructure.

Not only this, the hotel rates soared to INR 50,000 to INR 90,000, within just 48 hours of the concert announcement. EY-Parthenon (EY-P), the leading strategy consulting firm and BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment experiential division of BookMyShow, India’s leading entertainment destination, have released a comprehensive report, titled ‘India’s rising concert economy: Coldplay’s Ahmedabad tour sets the blueprint for India’s next cultural boomtowns’.

It captures the sweeping economic, cultural, workforce, sustainability and tourism impact of live entertainment in India, following India’s largest-ever live entertainment spectacle – Coldplay’s two-night ‘Music Of The Spheres’ concerts in Ahmedabad, produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live.

In a significant endorsement of India’s growing concert economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address at the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, said, “In a country with such a rich heritage in music, dance and storytelling, with such a large pool of youth and a massive consumer base for concerts, there are vast opportunities for the concert economy. In the past decade, both the trend and demand for live events have grown. You must have seen the incredible images from the Coldplay concerts in Mumbai and Ahmedabad in recent days. This is proof of how much scope live concerts have in India”.

Over 80% of attendees shared a positive outlook on the concert experience, with 39% expressing confidence in the city’s preparedness to host large-scale events and 29% hoping to see more such concerts in Ahmedabad. The shift in perception was striking – 78% of surveyed attendees now view Ahmedabad as a major concert city, and two-thirds (66%) expressed strong willingness to return.

Talking about the report, Harsh Sanghvi, the Home Minister, Gujarat, said, “Executing an event of this scale required meticulous planning across security, traffic and emergency measures. With extensive provisions in place, seamless coordination with the organizers ensured clear communication with attendees, aiding smooth movement and overall safety. This collaboration between authorities and event organizers exemplifies how strategic planning and partnership can elevate large scale event execution”.

The concert delivered significant economic windfall, generating an estimated economic impact of INR 641 crore in total including a direct boost of INR 392 crore to Ahmedabad’s economy, with significant spending on accommodation, transport, dining and retail. It also contributed INR 72 crore in GST revenue to the Government of India, underlining its powerful fiscal impact.

The demographic reach was equally significant – nearly 8 in 10 attendees (79%) were under the age of 35, reflecting a powerful resonance with younger audiences who typically drive entertainment spending.

Yami Gautam says ‘Always got your back’ as she drops a childhood pic with sister Surilie

Mumbai, Nov 28 (IANS) Actress Yami Gautam’s sister Surilie Gautam treated the netizens with an adorable throwback photo of the Gautam sisters.

The image from their childhood showed little Yami standing behind her kid sister, with her hands firmly placed on her shoulders as a constant pillar of support.

Uploading the photo on her Instagram Stories, Surilie wrote, “Always backing me”, along with a red heart and a love-kissed emoji.

Re-sharing the image on her social media handle, Yami reciprocated the love, saying, “Always got your back…Love You,” followed by red heart emojis.

For those who do not know, Surilie, who is also an actress like her sister, made her television debut in 2008 with “Meet Mila De Rabba, and went on to make her big screen debut with the Punjabi film “Power Cut”.

Work-wise, Yami recently garnered a lot of praise for her portrayal of Shazia Bano in “Haq”, co-starring Emraan Hashmi.

During an exclusive conversation with IANS, Yami called “Haq”, a deeply feminist film. She pointed out that the ideology of feminism has evolved with time, and now entails some things which she does not completly agree with.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, she shared, “If you have courage to tell the story of, which is inspired by a really courageous woman, woman of substance, a woman of feminism, she is, I feel a true blue example of what feminism is”.

“There are a lot of definitions of feminism today, and I may not agree with some of them. True feminism is not fighting the other person, it is about standing up for yourself, for your children, for what you know is right, is rightfully yours, it is as basic as that, so then, yeah, so that is my approach”, the ‘Vicky Donor’ actress added.
