Arijit’s Singh new track teaser from ‘O Romeo’ drops amid chatter over his retirement

Mumbai Jan 31(IANS) A teaser from the new track from producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s O’Romeo has been unveiled in Saturday. Titled as Ishq Ka Fever, and sung by Arijit Singh, the song arrives as a quiet reminder of why his voice has long been the sound of love for a generation: intimate, aching, and deeply human.

Dropping at a time when Arijit Singh has spoken about stepping away from playback singing, Ishq Ka Fever feels quite poignant. Adding to its quiet magic is a recent glimpse of Vishal Bhardwaj seen jamming on the song with Arijit Singh and Rekha Bhardwaj.

Vishal has shared an emotional moment on his social media account where he was seen singing Ishq Ka Fever, recorded by Arijit Singh, further reacting to the Singh’s shocking recent announcement about stepping away from playback singing.

Sharing the video on his social media account, Vishal wrote an emotional note where he expressed disbelief over Arijit Singh’s decision. He wrote, “Hey Arijit.. Till a few days back while we were jamming on this song (you were shooting the video) I didn’t know that this will be my one of the last film song with you. This is unfair.. #TakeBackYourSanyaas. It’s unacceptable.”

Vishal Bhardwaj and Arijit Singh have previously collaborated on several notable projects.

For the uninitiated, Arijit Singh on 27th of January announced his decision from retiring from playback singing.

His decision has sent shockwaves across the film and music industry, with composers, filmmakers and fans expressing disbelief.

The singer in a social media note, revealed that he will no longer take up any new assignments as a playback vocalist.

He wrote, “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey.”

The singer also thanked his listeners for their unwavering love and support over the years and calling his journey as a playback singer “wonderful”.

Talking about O Romeo, resented by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the movie releases theatrically on 13th February 2026.

Chennai, Aug 9 (IANS) The makers of director Jains Nani’s action comedy K-Ramp, featuring actors Kiran Abbavaram and Yukti Thareja in the lead, on Saturday released the lyrical video of the peppy, upbeat romantic number ‘Onam Song’ from the film much to the delight of fans and film buffs.

Actor Kiran Abbavaram too shared the link to the lyrical video on his X timeline. He wrote, “Felt like a real celebration. Hope you all celebrate this song as much as we did. #OnamSong #KRamp”

The Onam song, which has been set to tune by Chaitan Bharadwaj, has been sung by Chaitan Bharadwaj himself along with Sahithi Chaganti. The upbeat, peppy romantic number has lyrics by Surendra Krishna.

For the unaware, K-Ramp, which is scheduled to hit screens on October 18 for Deepavali this year, will be an action rom-com. The film, which sources say will be Kiran Abbavaram’s first full-fledged comedy role, has been directed by Jains Nani and produced by Razesh Danda and Shiva Bommak. Yukti Thareja plays the female lead in the film which has music by Chaitan Bharadwaj and cinematography by Sateesh Reddy Masam.

Editing for the film, the shooting of which began in February this year, is by Chota K Prasad. Dialogues for the film have been penned by Ravindra Rajaa while action sequences in the film have been choreographed by Prudhvi. K Appaji has served as the Executive Producer of the film, which will have VFX by Gravity VFX.

Bigg Boss 19: Amaal Mallik opens up on lowest phase of life during Covid, breaks down

Mumbai, Oct 25 (IANS) Music composer and Bigg Boss 19 contestant Amaal Mallik recently opened his heart out by talking about one of the most painful and emotionally low phases of his life during an emotional conversation with Ashnoor Kaur while inside the house.

Amaal described that period as the lowest point of his life. While talking to Ashnoor Kaur, Amaal said, ‘2020-2021-2022-2023-2024, those were very bad years for me. I lost my pet, lost a few friends, Covid happened, and a 6-7 year relationship came to an end. Further elaborating on losing his pet Handsome, Amaal said, ‘When I lost Handsome, it was the worst phase.’

He also added that his mother had told him to visit his pet dog when he was sick, but Amaal couldn’t bring himself to meet him. Ashnoor, who was seen lending an ear to Amaal, went ahead and tried to console him after he broek down. For the uninitiated, Amaal keeps a photo frame of himself with Handsome beside his bed in the Bigg Boss house.

He has time and again said that the photo of his late companion is a source of his industry during his BB 19 journey. Talking about Amaal Mallik’s game, recently his friendship with co-contestant Tanya Mittal seems to have now hit rock bottom.

While Tanya and her friend Neelam had a massive showdown, in which instead of offering support, Amaal appeared detached from Tanya.

He was heard saying that Tanya was an attention seeker and would probably be happy now that everyone is talking about her, while coming out in support of Neelam.

His words deeply hurt Tanya, who had earlier been one of his biggest emotional supporters in the house.

71st National Awards: SRK, Vikrant Massey receive Best Actor award from President Droupadi Murmu

Mumbai, Sep 23 (IANS) Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan and actor Vikrant Massey were lionised with the 71st National Award for Best Actor. While SRK was feted for his work in the pan-India tentpole ‘Jawan’, Vikrant was honoured with the Rajat Kamal for his performance in ‘12th Fail’.

The actors were presented the trophy by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. This marked the first ever National Award for both SRK and Vikrant. For SRK, it’s a bit more special as it’s his first award in his career spanning more than 3 decades.

SRK is one of India’s most prominent actors and a global Bollywood icon. The actor is considered the “King of Bollywood”, and has appeared in over 80 films across genres like romance, action, and drama. His international appeal stems from a combination of versatile performances, charismatic screen presence, and active engagement with global audiences through tours and social media. He has several international recognitions including UNESCO’s Pyramide con Marni Award, L’Etoile d’Or by King Mohammed VI of Morocco, Wissame Al Kafaa Al Fikria, and Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur, and the Padma Shri in 2005.

Talking about Vikrant Massey, the actress like SRK, made a switch from television to cinema, and gained recognition with ‘A Death in the Gunj’ and ‘Chhapaak’. He is praised for performances in OTT series ‘Mirzapur’ and ‘HIT: The First Case’.

The ceremony started shortly after the dignitaries including the President, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and filmmaker-producer Ashutosh Gowariker, filmmaker P. Sheshadri and author, Gopalakrishna Pai arrived.

The 71st National Film Awards, recognising excellence in Indian cinema for 2023, were announced on 1 August 2025 by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. The award ceremony is currently underway at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where the President of India, Droupadi Murmu is conferring the honours.

The event is organised by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC) and features a structured jury system, with regional committees feeding into a central committee chaired by Ashutosh Gowariker for the Feature Film category. The awards aim to celebrate the artistic and technical achievements of Indian cinema without public bias, maintaining a formal presentation.
