Bigg Boss’ Monalisa reveals she & husband Vikrant have been trying to have a baby for a long time

Mumbai, Feb 26 (IANS) Actress Monalisa, known off-screen as Antara Biswas, in an exclusive conversation with IANS, opened up about her long-standing desire to embrace parenthood with husband Vikrant Singh Rajpoot.

She mentioned that both she and Vikrant have been trying for a long time and are hopeful for ‘that blessed day.’

When IANS asked about her family planning, the actress said, “Yes, of course. We have been trying for a long time. Ultimately, it is in God’s hands. I am hopeful and waiting for that blessed day.”

Monalisa and Vikrant, both established actors in the Bhojpuri film industry, have been married since January 2017 after tying the knot inside the Bigg Boss 10 house

Monalisa and Vikrant who recently participated in the reality show The 50, spoke about a recent moment in the reality show, where fellow contestant Bebika Durve had mentioned male contestants flirting with Monalisa and conveyed it to Vikrant adding ‘masala’, probably to see his reaction. Vikrant was seen siding with his wife and explained that he is absolutely secure as a husband and trusts his wife to death.

Talking about it, Monalisa told IANS that she did watch the clip. She explained that there was “nothing inappropriate” and that Vikrant had handled the situation maturely. “Vikrant and I have been together for eighteen years. We understand each other deeply and share a very strong bond. When I saw the clip, I wondered why she made that comment… Trust has always been the foundation of our relationship,” she said.

Monalisa, further also spoke about the pressures reality shows can easily put on relationships as the couple is then constantly under scrutiny. “Reality shows simply show who we truly are. Inside the house, we live as we do at home. Disagreements and arguments are natural, but that does not mean trust disappears. We communicate openly and resolve issues. Communication is the cornerstone of any strong relationship,” she added.

Talking about Monalisa and Vikrant, the couple was also seen in Bigg Boss 10 where they got married inside the house.

For the uninitiated, Monalisa, is a prominent figure in the Bhojpuri industry, and has also acted in television shows and Hindi films.

Heavy rains force makers of Anupama Parameswaran’s ‘Lockdown’ to postpone film’s release

Chennai, Dec 3 (IANS)The makers of director A R Jeeva’s gripping drama, ‘Lockdown’, featuring actress Anupama Parameswaran in the lead, on Wednesday announced that they had decided to postpone the release of the film in the wake of incessant rains continuing to lash Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu and in particular, Chennai, have been receiving steady rainfall for over a week as a result of the deep depression caused by the remnants of cyclone Ditwah, which wreaked havoc in neighbouring Sri Lanka.

Taking to its X timeline, Lyca Productions, the firm producing the picture, wrote,”With the ongoing rains, the release of #Lockdown has been postponed. Your safety comes first. We’ll meet you in theatres soon. #LockdownInCinemasSoon.”

It also published a statement that read,”Due to the ongoing heavy rains and adverse weather conditions, the release of our film #Lockdown has been postponed. In light of the current challenges, we are delaying the release to prioritize the safety of our audience, theatre staff, and partners. Please stay safe and take necessary precautions. We look forward to welcoming you to cinemas soon to experience ‘Lockdown’ on the big screen.”

The film was scheduled to release on December 5 this year.

The Censor Board has already cleared the film for release with a U/A certificate.

‘Lockdown’, a woman-centric film, has triggered huge expectations as it is based on a true story.

Produced by Subaskaran of Lyca Productions, the film will, apart from Anupama Parameswaran, also feature actors Charlie, Nirosha, Priya Venkat, Livingston, Indhumathi, Rajkumar, Shamji, Lollu Sabha Maran, Vinayak Raj, Vidhu, Abhirami, Ravathi, Sanjivie, Priya Ganesh and Asha among others.

Music for the film has been scored by the gifted NR Raghunanthan and Siddharth Vipin, while cinematography is by K.A. Sakthivel. The film has editing by V J Sabu Joseph and art direction by A Jayakumar.

Choreography for the film is by Sherif and Sri Girish while stunts have been choreographed by Om Sivaprakash. Costumes for the film have been designed by Meenakshi Shreedharan.

Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe attacked again; Gangster Goldy Dhillon takes responsibility

Mumbai, Aug 7 (IANS) Troubles do not seem to end for comedian and actor Kapil Sharma as his cafe in Canada, Kap’s Cafe, was attacked on Thursday for the second time within a month.

If the reports are to be believed, 6 rounds of bullets were fired at the cafe located at 85 Avenue and Scott Road.

According to the reports, as the Surrey Police arrived at the scene for investigation, they found shattered glass and damaged windows.

Gangster Goldy Dhillon, who claims to be affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Claiming responsibility for the attack, Goldy wrote on social media: “Jai Shree Ram. Sat Shree Akaal, Ram Ram to all brothers. The firing that took place today at Kapil Sharma’s ‘Kaps Caf’ in Surrey has been claimed by Goldy Dhillon, affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.”

“We called him [possibly the target], but he did not answer the call, so we had to take this action. If he still does not respond, then we will take another action soon, this time in Mumbai.”

However, the motive behind the attack has not been revealed till now.

Refreshing your memory, the newly opened Kap’s café in Canada was attacked on July 10 as well. Going by the reports, at least nine rounds were fired at the cafe. However, no one was injured in the attack.

Harjeet Singh Laddi, also known as ‘Laddi Khalistani’, an operative of the banned terror group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) claimed responsibility for the primary attack on Kapil’s cafe.

Using social media, Laddi stated that the attack was done in response to the remarks made about the Nihang Sikhs’ attire during a television show hosted by Kapil.

Co-managed by Kapil’s wife Ginni Chatrath, Kap’s cafe received a positive response from customers.

Forever grateful, says Nayanthara as she completes 22 years in film industry

Chennai, Oct 9 (IANS) One of south India’s top actresses Nayanthara, who has now completed 22 years in the film industry, has now penned a note of gratitude in which she has said that every frame, every shot and every silence had shaped her, healed her and made her who she was.

Taking to her Instagram stories section, the top actress posted a hand written note which read, “Twenty two years since I first stood in front of the camera, not knowing movies would become the love of my life. Every frame, every shot, every silence… shaped me, healed me and made me who I am. Forever grateful.”

The actress’s post of gratitude came on a day when the first look posters of ‘Hi’, her upcoming film with actor Kavin, were released.

The romantic entertainer,which is being jointly produced by Zee Studios South, The Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studios, will also feature a host of actors including K Bhagyaraj, Prabhu, Radhika, Sathyan, Adithya Kathir and Kureishi among others.

For the unaware, Vishnu Edavan, who is making his debut as a director with this film, had earlier worked as an associate director to ace director Lokesh Kanagaraj in several of his projects including ‘Kaithi’, ‘Master’ and ‘Vikram’.

Actress Nayanthara, who shared the first look posters on her Instagram timeline and wrote,”It all begins with a simple Hi :)”

Director Vishnu Edavan, while commenting about his film, said that it will be a wholesome family entertainer that will speak about true love.

Sources close to the unit of the film say that shooting for the film is currently on in places in and around Chennai. Around 20 days of shooting has already been completed. The film has seven songs in all. Of these, two songs have already been picturised.

Expectations from the film are high as this will be the first time that actors Nayanthara and Kavin are acting together.

The film, which boasts of a strong technical team, will have music by Jen Martin and cinematography by Rajesh Shukla. Editing for the film will be by the capable Philomin Raj and art direction will be by Shekhar B. Dances in the film are to be choreographed by Brinda while stunts are to be choreographed by Dinesh Kasi.
