Munmun Dutta mourns the loss of her ‘oldest baby’: She did not deserve to die this way

Mumbai, May 8 (IANS) Actress Munmun Dutta took to her social media account to mourn the loss of her stray fur baby and poured her heart out in a post.

The actress revealed that she lost her stray pet dog whom she lovingly called her “oldest baby.” Sharing an emotional carousel of photos and videos, the actress expressed her heartbreak, saying her pet did not deserve such a painful end.

In the carousel, Munmun was seen spending tender moments with the stray dog. From petting her, holding her close, to cuddling showering her with affection, the post featured all of their adorable moments.

In another video, the furry companion was seen cuddling up to the actress.

One of the pictures also captured Munmun gently holding the dog’s face probably talking to her with love.

Expressing her heartbreak, Munmun wrote,

“This has hit me the hardest.

My heart is broken She was my sweetest, calm soul who was also my oldest baby.

I would go miles to take care of her.

I knew she would leave one day but I always thought I would be around and she would leave peacefully.

Talking about her fur baby’s demise, Munmun wrote, “Never in my wildest dream had I imagined her being killed this mercilessly and torn into pieces and that her body being dragged far away. I cannot erase the vision of her tortured, mutilated lifeless body. SHE DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE THIS WAY.”

She further wrote, “I am shattered, my core is shaken and I wonder why would such an innocent sweet soul meet such a cruel end.”

Talking about the actress, Munmun is an absolute advocate of healthy environment and is an ardent animal lover as well.

Recently, Munmun had shared an adorable glimpse of her morning routine as she introduced her newest rescue kitten.

Taking to her social media account, the actress had posted a clip showing the tiny kitten sitting on her lap as she began her make-up routine. The curious little kitty kept looking around and observing every move.

The actress, for the uninitiated, frequently uses her platform to highlight animal welfare and the importance of caring for strays.

On the professional front, Munmun has been a part of the entertainment industry for over two decades and currently is best known for her portrayal of Babita Iyer in

the Hindi sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

Mumbai, May 1 (IANS) Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has a message on national unity for the people of the country after the cowardly attack in Pahalgam, last week by the terrorists.

The actor, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film ‘Kesari Veer’, spoke with IANS, and gave a call to the fellow countrymen to stand united, and keep the differences aside.

He equated the film’s message as the current requirement on behalf of the country’s citizens as the film also deals with the attack led by the Tughlaq Empire where locals fought the invading forces to protect the Somnath Temple and the Hindu faith.

Suniel told IANS, “The message in the end is very clear, that the country is above anything else. People coming together, simple people from different walks of life, who come together to fight for one cause, and that is evil. And that’s the way we should be thinking even today. We should not let hatred, and fear take over. But let your combined strength and our values take over and show the world that we are one. And we never would be disturbed”.

He further cited the example of the attacks of 26/11 when armed Pakistani terrorists entered India’s economic engine, Mumbai through its coast, and reigned open terror on its people before they were neutralised by the National Security Guard across a 3-day operation.

The actor told IANS, “It happened earlier as well, 26/11 happened but, Mumbai got up the very next day, saluting all the people who lost their lives, saluting all the people in uniform who lost their lives. We’re more vigilant now, we’re more aware now. I think that’s the message that our film ‘Kesari Veer’ also gives. Our values, relationships, our culture, our gods, our goddesses are something we deeply revere”.

Earlier, a video of the actor from Kashmir went viral on social media, in which he was seen urging the people of India to not turn their backs on Kashmir, and turn up in droves to support the economy through tourism.

As per the Economic Survey report of Jammu and Kashmir, the state witnessed an annual footfall of 3.26 crore tourists, with tourism accounting for more than INR 18, 000 crore.

Only 40 days of shooting left to complete Sivakarthikeyan-starrer ‘Parasakthi’, says Sudha Kongara

Chennai, May 24 (IANS) Sudha Kongara, whose eagerly awaited upcoming film ‘Parasakthi’ features actors Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi Mohan in the lead, has now disclosed that only another 40 days of shoot was left to complete the film.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event, Sudha Kongara, while giving an update on how the film was shaping up, said, “We have completed shooting a considerable portion of the film and only another 40 days of shoot is left.”

The director said that actor Sivakarthikeyan was currently shooting for A R Murugadoss’s Madharasi in Colombo. “We are waiting for Sivakarthikeyan to come back. Once he is back, we will begin to shoot,” she said.

When asked when the film would release, the director said that that was a decision that would be taken by the producers after consulting her.

Trashing rumours that ‘Parasakthi’ will release simultaneously with Vijay’s ‘Jananayagan’, Sudha Kongara said that they had never made such an announcement and that it was just pure speculation.

It may be recalled that while the first schedule of the film happened in Madurai, the unit headed to Sri Lanka for the second schedule.

‘Parasakthi’ has triggered huge interest among fans and film buffs. The period film, which also features Atharvaa and Sreeleela, is believed to be set in the 1960s in the then state of Madras.

A teaser released by the unit shows that the story takes place in the Pachaiyappa’s college in Madras where Sivakarthikeyan is seen going door to door, in search of something. He comes across as a fearless leader, looking to lead students on a violent protest in rebellion against an unjust system which seems to have imposed orders such as ‘Students – do not touch’. Incidentally, the teaser shows this order printed on a wall changed to ‘Do not touch students’.

The teaser has disclosed that Ravi Mohan’s character is intent on killing Sivakarthikeyan’s character.

Parasakthi, which was tentatively being referred to as #SK25 as it is Sivakarthikeyan’s 25th film, has music by G V Prakash and cinematography by experienced cameraman Ravi K Chandran. Stunts for the film are by Supreme Sundar.

Ram Charan’s Peddi in its final stretch, to be ‘Wrapped in 6 More Days’

Hyderabad, April 21 (IANS) Ram Charan’s “Peddi” is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. Adding to the buzz, the makers shared a candid selfie from the sets featuring Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana on Tuesday.

Dropping an exciting update on social media, the makers revealed that the entire shoot will be wrapped in just 6 more days.

“Mega Power Star @AlwaysRamCharan and @buchibabu_sana from the sets of #Peddi…The entire shoot will be wrapped in 6 more days…Grand release this June (sic),” they wrote.

The project has been raising anticipation with every update. The film’s first single, “Chikiri Chikiri,” managed to generate a massive buzz.

Riding on the momentum, the makers followed up with the second track, “Rai Rai Raa Raa,” which turned out to be a massive success on social media.

Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, “Peddi” stars Ram Charan in the titular role, along with Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu playing crucial parts.

Backed by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers, the makers recently revealed that the film will release in June, with the exact date to be announced soon.

The team is currently focusing on the post-production work for the drama.

Vriddhi Cinemas issued a statement, saying, ” Firstly, thank you all for the wonderful response to our songs and glimpses. We’re truly happy to see the love and excitement for ‘Peddi’. The talkie part of the film is complete, and we only have one song left to be shot. We’ve seen the edit of the film, and we’re extremely happy with the output.”

“With such great content in our hands, we want to present it in the best possible way. For that, we feel it’s important to give our technicians and post-production team a little more time to bring out their best with absolute perfection. It is our duty to give you nothing but the best theatrical experience. So, we’ve decided to push the release of the film to June,” they added.
