Aaradhya Patel reveals her ‘Tu Dhadkan Mein Dil’ character’s superpower

Mumbai, March 10 (IANS) Kareena Kapoor paid a special tribute to her grandfather Raj Kapoor during IIFA 2025 with an incredible performance on his popular song ‘Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua’ from his film, “Shree 420”.

In addition to this, Kareena also gave a memorable performance on another one of Raj Kapoor’s songs from “Shree 420, “Mera Joota Hai Japani”.

From the costumes to the expressions, Kareena’s performance is everything we hoped for.

Both these performances have been dropped by IIFA on their official IG account.

Previously, talking about her IIFA performance, the ‘Jab We Met’ actress called it “especially close to my heart”.

Elated to return to the IIFA stage, Kareena released a statement that read, “Celebrating Indian Cinema’s Global Triumph in the Heart of Jaipur, I’m excited to be returning to the IIFA stage after many years, and what better time than for their Silver Jubilee Edition. In a sense, IIFA’s journey and mine have almost run parallel – we’re celebrating 25 years together in the cinema. This performance is especially close to my heart as it pays tribute to my legendary grandfather, Raj Kapoor, whose 100th birth anniversary was recently celebrated across the country with so much love. It’s a surreal moment for me to be able to connect these dots and be a part of this celebration of legacy, family, and the enduring power of cinema.”

Before this, Kareena channeled her inner ‘Poo’ from “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”, during a practice session ahead of her big performance at the 25th edition of the IIFA Awards grand ceremony.

The official Instagram account of IIFA dropped a backstage video of Kareena. The clip showed the stunner dressed in a white T-shirt paired with yoga pants and sunglasses.

Kareena was heard saying the iconic dialogue “Kaun hai yeh jisne dobara mudke mujhe nahi dekha, who is he?” as she faced the camera.

Los Angeles, May 22 (IANS) Hollywood actress Joey King is in negotiations to star in the upcoming film ‘Practical Magic 2’ in which she may share the screen with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.

She’s reportedly playing the daughter of Bullock’s character. Bullock and Kidman are reprising their roles as Sally and Gillian Owens, two sisters who descend from a long line of witches, reports ‘Variety’.

In the original 1998 movie, the duo finds themselves fighting off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with. Plot details for the second film haven’t been revealed, though sources say the story is based on a later installment in Alice Hoffman’s ‘Practical Magic’ book series.

As per ‘Variety’, Susanne Bier is directing ‘Practical Magic 2’ from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the first film.

It’s aiming to start production in London later this summer, according to the Hollywood Reporter, which broke the new of King’s casting. Warner Bros. will release the witchy sequel in theaters on September 18, 2026.

Kidman recently told ‘Variety’ that she’s seen the script but doesn’t expect to begin filming “for a while”. But what’s a few more weeks or months, at this point? The Oscar-winning actor revealed she’s been waiting nearly 30 years for the follow-up to ‘Practical Magic’.

“When we were making it, we definitely (thought about a sequel)”, Kidman said. “We’re so excited. We put out our spell already”.

She’s referring to the teaser that Warner Bros. released earlier in May. The text-only clip features a voiceover from Bullock and Kidman, who chant the following incantation, “Tooth of wolf and morning dew. Something old and something new. Let the spell begin to mix. September 18, 2026″.

King is best known for Netflix’s ‘The Kissing Booth’ franchise, as well as Hulu’s true-crime series ‘The Act’, which earned her an Emmy nomination. The 25-year-old actor’s other major credits include ‘Despicable Me 4’, David Leitch’s action-comedy ‘Bullet Train’ Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ and ‘Crazy Stupid Love’.

Mumbai, May 26 (IANS) Indian cinema legend and multiple award-winning artiste Kamal Haasan is reuniting with 6 time National Award winner Mani Ratnam after almost 4 decades in the upcoming film ‘Thug Life’. A lot has changed in the past 38 years, India opened its economy, witnessed landslide political changes, television peaked, and cinema diversified.

In all of this, what has changed between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam as fellow artistes? Well for starters, cinema has become a language, and a mode of communication for them.

The veteran actor spoke with IANS in the run-up to the release of ‘Thug Life’, and said that although cinema is the preferred mode of communication between them, he refrains from calling himself being fluent and proficient in the language. Afterall, an artiste’s growth lies in constant pursuit of knowledge and excellence.

Kamal told IANS, “Cinema has become a language. We don’t know how fluent we are in that, but we speak it. And we are improving. Like, we’ve lost the slur that we had. We lost that baby talk that we had. All that is gone now. But we are still, I think, work in progress”.

“So, if I talk of a director, he knows which way the scene will take. If he talks about a film, I know what mood he is talking about. We could almost guess either of us going towards day or night or in a certain direction. Where he is going to shoot it. Because the stimulus for us comes from our forefathers in this field”, he added.

The two last worked together in ‘Nayakan’. Meanwhile, ‘Thug Life’ also stars Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Ali Fazal, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf.
