Ace filmmaker Shaji N Karun passes away

Mumbai, March 12 (IANS) Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has extended his gratitude to his fans, whom he refers to as his “Extended Family or EF”, for continuous engagement of his son Abhishek Bachchan’s upcoming film “Be Happy.”

Amitabh took to his blog, where he shared a monochrome picture of him greeting his EFs on the gates of his home. A glimpse of the fans holding a placard, which reads ”Be Happy” can be seen faintly.

Big B worte in Hindi: “Prachar hai, apne EF se aagrah aane waali bhaiyyu ki film ‘Be Happy’ ka nirantar vyavhar; vishay ko prachalit karne ke liye. (The promotion is on, with a request to the Ef for the continuous engagement of Bhaiyyu’s upcoming film ‘Be Happy’, to make the subject widespread.)

“14 March OTTpe aane waale Prime Amazon pe. EF ne bahut hi maan se is ko chapa hai social media pe aur hum apna abhaar prakat karta hu sab ko. Shabd ke badkar koi awaaz nahi goonjti. Is gunjan ko vyapak banana aap pe hai. (Releasing on March 14 on Amazon Prime, Ef has wholeheartedly shared it on social media, and I extend my gratitude to everyone.”

“No sound resonates louder than words. It is up to you to amplify this resonance.”

He went on to write: “The seat be the seat of power , often spoken of .. for the writer the seat be the seat for its creative adhesiveness .. for musician that seat be the keyboard for the eternal notes of harmony ..”

The passage metaphorically describes how a “seat” symbolises power, creativity, and connection across different fields..

The cine icon, referring to his connection with his fans, says his seat represents a deep emotional bond with them.

“For me my seat be the seat of my connect with the Ef .. Each time I sit on it the words emotions and content just flows out unhindered .. I am seated now .. on that seat .. And the emotions flow ..”

Mumbai, Feb 14 (IANS) Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, who has a witty sense of humour, penned a note on Valentine’s Day for those who are single.

Karan took to Instagram stories, where he shared the note claiming why all the single people are victorious.

The filmmaker, who himself claims to be single, wrote: “Dear Single Person, Today is the day you feel victorious… you have zero baggage, no drama and multiple options what’s not to celebrate ?? Happy Valentines day”.

Earlier this week, Karan described his film “My Name Is Khan”, which completed 15 years since its release in Hindi cinema, as a powerful reminder that humanity knows no boundaries.

Sharing a video from the film, KJo wrote, “It’s been 15 years, and yet the emotions this film evokes remain as strong as ever.”

“I still remember the journey of bringing this story to life—the love, the challenges, and the deep sense of purpose that drove us every step of the way. But the true impact of My Name Is Khan sank in much later, through the countless stories, messages, and connections it has fostered over the years.”

“Even today, I see its dialogues being quoted, its music being cherished, and its message of love and resilience standing tall. This film was always more than just cinema—it was a statement, a sentiment, and above all, a reminder that humanity knows no boundaries.”

The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “My Name Is Khan,” tells the story of Rizwan, a man with Asperger’s Syndrome, who relocates to San Francisco after the passing of his mother. He marries Mandira Rathod, a Hindu woman with a young son, Sameer, from a previous marriage.

However, following the events of 9/11, Mandira experiences harsh Islamophobic treatment, and tragedy strikes when Sameer is killed due to religious tensions. Rizwan embarks on a journey to prove that his faith and surname do not define him as a terrorist, challenging societal prejudices along the way.

Chennai, Jan 17 (IANS) The makers of director Nelson’s much-awaited action entertainer ‘Jailer 2’, featuring Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead, have now given fans of the superstar one more reason to celebrate.

Yes, Sun Pictures, the production house which officially announced the launch of Jailer 2 through an exceptionally interesting teaser that was both funny and thrilling, has now released a making video of the teaser.

It may be recalled that the teaser opened with a radio announcement that a cyclone was making its way to the coast, even as music director Anirudh and director Nelson are shown having a funny conversation in Goa, where they have come for what Nelson says is a story discussion session.

The two are obviously looking to find a storyline for Nelson’s next film.

The hilarious banter between the two soon makes way for some explosive action as random people who enter the room where the two are seated either get shot or stabbed.

With both the music director and the director scurrying for cover, you see a hazy image of Rajinikanth entering the room, obviously looking to hunt down any other survivors left behind.

When Rajinikanth leaves the room and steps out, a grenade is lobbed in. Outside Rajinikanth takes on more powerful villains. That is when an awestruck Anirudh tells director Nelson, “This looks fearsome Nelsa! Let’s make this into a film!”

The announcement teaser of Jailer 2 was a big hit, garnering over 13 million views in a matter of just 48 hours. However, there were some who expressed doubts if it was actually superstar Rajinikanth who was seen in the teaser as shots of the superstar in the trailer were hazy.

Now, putting an end to all such doubts, the production house has released a making video in which Rajinikanth is seen shooting for the teaser along with Anirudh and Nelson.

‘Jailer 2’ has huge expectations riding on it as the film’s first part went on to emerge a blockbuster, raking in a whopping 650 crores worldwide.
