Mexico: In a devastating incident on the Mazatlan-Culiacan Highway in northern Mexico, at least 19 lives were lost as a double-decker passenger bus collided with a trailer, confirmed Sinaloa state Attorney General Sara Bruna Quinonez Estrada.
Sharing details on the grim aftermath of the collision, the Attorney General stated on social media platform X on Tuesday, “So far, according to the expert work that is still being carried out in that area, 19 lifeless bodies have been registered” at the accident site in the municipality of Elota.
The total number of passengers on board is yet to be determined, with ongoing efforts to cross-reference the information with the bus company’s passenger list, she added.
