Congress-DMK Seat Sharing to Conclude on March 10

Chennai: The long-awaited seat sharing arrangement between the DMK and Congress parties, which had hit a roadblock over disagreements regarding seat allocation, is set to be finalized by Sunday, March 10.

Sources within the Congress party indicate that while the DMK is expected to agree to all nine seats, adjustments may be made to three constituencies. However, DMK leaders remained tight-lipped when approached for comments on the matter.

A crucial meeting involving senior leaders from both parties is scheduled to take place at the DMK headquarters, Anna Arivalayam. Representing the ruling DMK will be T.R. Baalu and S. Duraimurugan, while the Congress delegation will be led by Selvaperunthagai.

K. Selvaperunthagai, president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC), expressed optimism about securing the nine seats contested by the Congress in 2019, along with an additional seat in Puducherry. However, he emphasized that the final decision would only be reached during the meeting with DMK leaders on Sunday.
