Delhi Records Minimum Temperature of 6.9 Degrees Celsius

New Delhi: The national capital of Delhi experienced a significant drop in temperature as the mercury plummeted to 6.9 degrees Celsius, marking a departure of three notches below the seasonal average, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.

In the days leading up to this, temperatures had been hovering around 12 degrees, with Tuesday’s minimum recorded at 7.2 degrees.

According to IMD’s Wednesday forecast, the maximum temperature was expected to reach around 21 degrees, while the minimum was anticipated to remain at approximately 7 degrees. The weather office also predicted strong surface winds during the day.

Furthermore, air quality in several parts of the city showed signs of improvement, transitioning from ‘very poor’ and ‘severe’ categories to ‘moderate’ and ‘poor’. In the Anand Vihar area, PM2.5 levels were recorded at 151, categorized as ‘moderate’, while PM10 levels reached 210, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) at 9 a.m.
