Mumbai, Feb 4 (IANS) Bollywood actor Sooraj Pancholi has reportedly suffered injuries while filming for his upcoming movie “Kesari Veer: Legend of Somnath.”

Sources reveal that the actor sustained severe burns on his thighs and hamstrings during a crucial action sequence. As the historical action film features several intense action sequences, sources close to the project have revealed that Sooraj Pancholi sustained serious injuries while filming for the epic period drama.

A source close to the development revealed that Pancholi was injured while filming at Film City, Mumbai. During a crucial action sequence, the action director instructed Sooraj to perform a stunt where he had to jump over a pyrotechnics explosion. However, the explosion went off a bit earlier than planned, causing it to detonate beneath him. Due to the intense gunpowder used, he sustained severe burns on his thighs and hamstrings.

The insider also revealed that a medical team was present on set to monitor the actor’s condition and assist him in recovering quickly so he could continue filming. The source also mentioned that despite the intense pain from the pyrotechnic explosion, Sooraj refused to take a break and continued shooting throughout the entire schedule.

On a related note, “Kesari Veer: Legend of Somnath,” directed by Prince Dhiman, is Sooraj Pancholi’s maiden biopic, and the film revolves around a war that took place at the famous Somnath temple in Gujarat. In the action thriller, the ‘Hero’ actor will showcase a never-seen-before side of him.

Sooraj will be seen sharing the screen space with Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Akanksha Sharma. As per reports, Oberoi will be seen playing a negative portrayal while Suniel will be seen aiding in protecting the temple.

Meanwhile, Sooraj Pancholi, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, made his Bollywood debut with the 2015 romantic action film “Hero,” opposite Athiya Shetty.

Mumbai, Feb 4 (IANS) Actress Chitrangda Singh, who is all set to make her web-series debut with ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ by Neeraj Pandey, said that the show explores the murky underbelly of “Calcutta’s political landscape”.

The series was recently announced during Netflix’s Slate Reveal. Chitrangda talked about her role, the experience of working with Neeraj Pandey, and why this project feels like a homecoming.

She said: “This is the first time I’m doing a web series. It’s my OTT debut, and that too on Netflix—so it’s pretty huge! The fact that I get to work with Neeraj Pandey is incredible, and considering how ‘Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’ became a massive success, being part of ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ feels surreal.”

The actress said that she has not done a genre like this in a long time.

“So in many ways, it feels like going back to my first film. This story explores the murky underbelly of Calcutta’s political landscape, and the narrative is packed with intrigue. My character is deeply human, flawed, and complex—I absolutely loved playing her, and I’m thrilled to finally step into the OTT space.”

Beyond this, Chitrangda will also be seen in ‘Raat Akeli Hai 2’ alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui, a sequel to the acclaimed crime thriller, as well as the upcoming comedy ‘Housefull 5’ starring Akshay Kumar.

The first installment of the film released in 2010, which had Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone and late star Jiah Khan.

Two years later, the second installment was released. A standalone sequel to Housefull and also an uncredited remake of the 1998 Malayalam film “Mattupetti Machan.” The first two parts were helmed by Sajid Khan.

The third and the fourth installment was directed by Farhad Samji and the fifth film Housefull 5 is directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The fifth installment also stars Fardeen Khan, Pooja Hegde and Riteish.

The actress was last seen in “Gaslight” in 2023. The film, which is a mystery-thriller, is directed by Pavan Kirpalani. It also stars Vikrant Massey and Sara Ali Khan.

Mouni took to Instagram, where she shared a string of pictures and clips featuring the two from their getaways and sleepovers.

“Happiest birthday to my mystifying, electrifying, most beautiful little sister. My best mate and princepessa; love all characteristics and atoms that make you (sic),” Mouni said.

She added: “Thank you for bringing sunshine and sunnies into my life no matter what the weather is, for checking up on me every single day no matter which continent you are in and very casually being the greatest friend any girl can ask for.”

Mouni said that life is definitely crazier with Disha in it.

Mouni in May wrapped up her work on David Dhawan’ ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ and described working with the filmmaker’ a lifelong dream.’

Calling working in the David Dhawan’s film,starring Varun Dhawan, Pooja Hegde, and Mrunal Thakur, Mouni wrote on Instagram: “If anyone of you understand magic & the theory of dream come true this is it. Working with David sir was a life long dream. His films is the show “FRIENDS” to me. And him and rohit sir are the pillars of this film being made. Best experience ever. (sic)”

Sharing her experience of working with Varun, she added, “Varunaaaaa @varundvn you are the most earnest hard working loving handsome superstar I have worked with. Unlucky for you, the person you are overshadows the actor/ dancer you are and to me it’s a good thing.”
