Halle Berry shares how she knew fiance Van Hunt was ‘the one’

Los Angeles, Feb 11 (IANS) Hollywood actress Halle Berry has shared a deep insight into her relationship with Van Hunt. This comes just days after the couple confirmed their engagement.

The actress recently attended the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film, ‘Crime 101’, and shared how she knew the musician, 54, was “the one”, reports ‘People’ magazine.

She told ‘People’, “You know, you get to be 54, you just kind of did it a few times, three, to be exact. You just kind of know when it’s right, ’cause you know when it’s wrong”.

Berry has been married three times previously, to David Justice, Eric Benet and Olivier Martinez. The star’s dazzling engagement ring was on full display as she walked the red carpet at the premiere, which was also attended by her co-star Chris Hemsworth, his brother Liam Hemsworth and their parents.

As per ‘People’, Jewelry experts shared that Hunt popped the question with a ring that could have cost over $200,000 and features a unique and “deeply personal” design.

At her latest premiere, Berry accessorized her new sparkler with a gold choker necklace and a chic black suit paired with a silk blouse featuring a ruffled collar and plunging neckline. Berry confirmed she and Hunt were engaged after almost six years of dating during an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on Thursday, February 5.

The ‘X-Men’ star told host Jimmy Fallon that fans had some uncertainty around her and Hunt’s relationship status, saying, “There’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no”.

“But, that’s not the case?”, asked Fallon, 51. “No, that’s not the case”explained. “I did not say ‘no,’ we just don’t have a date. Of course, I said ‘yes, I would marry him’”.

“I’m so happy, you guys are a great couple,” Fallon said, congratulating the actress.

Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Kingdom’ to reach the audience on July 31st

Mumbai, July 7 (IANS) The wait is finally over as the release date for Vijay Deverakonda’s highly-anticipated next, “Kingdom” has been revealed.

The Gowtam Tinnanuri’s directorial will be reaching the cinema halls on July 31st this year.

The makers also shared a powerful announcement video from the drama which featured VD in an intense rugged avatar.

The promo opened with Vijay posing in a police uniform. Later, we see him taking matters into his own hands, most likely as a leader, fighting against the wrong. The clip further showed the ‘Arjun Reddy’ actor performing some high-intense action in his next.

These high-octane action sequences have been directed by three stunt choreographers – Yannick Ben, Chethan D’Souza, and Real Satish.

Sharing the announcement video on his IG, Vijay wrote, “#KINGDOM July 31st. Worldwide. Let our Destinies unfold. A @gowtam19 story that unfolds like a novel to @anirudhofficial’s genius score.”

Additionally, makers, Sitara Entertainments penned, “One man. A heart full of fury. A world that pushed too far. Now it’s CARNAGE time.”

For the unversed, “Kingdom” has already been postponed not once but twice. The action entertainer was originally scheduled for a theatrical release on May 30. However, it was later rescheduled to release on July 4, which has now been pushed to July 31.

The makers claimed that the release of the drama was delayed owing to the India-Pakistan tensions following the horrific Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, followed by Operation Sindoor.

Aside from VD, the movie will also have Bhagyashri Borse and Satyadev playing significant roles, along with others.

Bankrolled by Naga Vamsi S and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune 4 Cinemas banners, “Kingdom” will feature music scored by Anirudh Ravichander with Navin Nooli as the head of the editing department.

Presented by Srikara Studios, the technical crew of the drama also has Neeraja Kona as the costume designer and Vijay Binni as the choreographer.

Trial begins on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ case with prosecutors detailing ‘coercive and criminal’ sex crimes

Los Angeles, May 13 (IANS) The sex trafficking trial of the disgraced rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs kicked off with the jury swearing in, and the defense and prosecution offered opening statements.

The government’s opening statement from prosecutor Emily A. Johnson painted Combs as a powerful businessman who used his fame and power to rape, assault and abuse various people for decades, and whose inner circle of bodyguards and other employees helped him commit and cover up crimes, reports ‘Variety’.

The prosecution focused on alleged victims Casandra “Cassie” Ventura and “Jane,” who are both expected to testify this week. Throughout their 11-year relationship, Combs allegedly “physically abused” and “sexually exploited” Ventura, forcing her to take drugs and have sex with male escorts as Combs masturbated and videotaped.

As per ‘Variety’, these incidents, which Combs called “freak-offs”, took place in dimly-lit hotel rooms set up with supplies by Combs’ employees. Combs allegedly used the video footage to “blackmail” Ventura, an R&B artist in her own right who was signed to his record label. “He told her he could destroy her career by releasing videos of her performing sex acts on dozens and dozens of escorts”, said the prosecution. “He had the power to ruin her life”.

As Combs has asserted that all sexual activity referenced in his indictment was consensual, the prosecution said, “This case is not about a celebrity’s private sexual preferences”, adding that the sex acts were “coercive and criminal”.

In one alleged instance, Combs made a male escort urinate in Ventura’s mouth. In another, she overdosed on drugs given to her by Combs while she still had an open wound on her face from his physical abuse.

The prosecution said Combs’ alleged abuse of Ventura was “the tip of the iceberg” of his illegal behavior, which also allegedly includes arson and the kidnapping of his own employee. The prosecution referenced other victims, including Mia, a personal assistant whom Combs allegedly raped, and an escort who says he witnessed Combs assault Ventura.

Unit of #Mega157 shoots duet song featuring Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara in Kerala

Chennai, July 19 (IANS) The unit of director Anil Ravipudi’s eagerly awaited commercial comedy entertainer, #Mega157, featuring megastar Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara in the lead, is now in the process of shooting some crucial scenes and a duet song featuring the lead actors in the scenic locations of Kerala.

Sources close to the unit said that the team is presently filming a lively and melodious montage song featuring Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara, composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, and also some crucial scenes, in this schedule.

Set against the colourful backdrop of a wedding, the number exudes fun and celebration. The shoot of this ongoing schedule will be wrapped up by July 23, the sources add.

The production is moving at a swift and efficient pace, the sources claim and add that as teased in a recent promo, Chiranjeevi will be seen in a vintage, stylish avatar, adding a nostalgic charm to the film.

It may be recalled that the unit of the film has so far completed two schedules of shooting.

While the unit completed the first schedule in Hyderabad, it wrapped up the second schedule of the film in the beautiful hill station of Mussoorie in June this year. The Mussoorie schedule was planned for 10 days and the unit stuck to the schedule.

Now, the unit is in Kerala for the third schedule.

The film, which is tentatively being referred to as #Mega157, is being produced by Sahu Garapati and Sushmita Konidela under the banner of Shine Screens and Gold Box Entertainments.

The film has triggered huge expectations as after ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ and ‘Godfather’, Nayanthara will be seen sharing screen space with Chiranjeevi for the third time in this film.

Director Anil Ravipudi, who recently delivered a huge blockbuster with his festival entertainer ‘Sankranthiki Vasthunam’, is directing this film.

Bheems Ceciroleo has been entrusted with the task of scoring music for this eagerly awaited entertainer while Sameer Reddy has been appointed cinematographer.

Editing for the film is by Tammiraju and A S Prakash its art director. S Krishna is the executive producer of the film, the story of which has been co-written by S Krishna and G Adi Narayana.

The film is scheduled to release for Sankranti 2026.
