Samay Raina faces legal heat by Supreme Court over his disability remark

Mumbai, April 21 (IANS) “India’s Got Latent” ideator Samay Raina has landed in legal soup yet again as the Supreme Court has expressed distress regarding his insensitive remarks allegedly making fun of an infant suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a heartbreaking medical condition.

Refreshing your memory, Raina recently got in trouble over fellow comic Ranveer Allahbadia’s joke about parents and sex on his show “India’s Got Latent”. Now, Raina has also been impleaded to the hearing of that case.

Sharing concern over Raina’s remark about the disabled, Justice Surya Kant stated, “We are really disturbed by the allegations. We place such instances on record… implead the concerned persons… suggest measures. Then we will see.”

SC’s reaction comes after an intervention application was submitted by the Cure SMA Foundation of India, urging the court to consider the massive prices of drugs used to treat the condition.

It must be noted here that the life-saving drugs for SMA include Zolgensma, a one-time gene therapy that costs approximately Rs 16 crore.

The application stated that such medicines are beyond the reach of the majority of the population of the country, and keeping this in mind, it was not correct of Raina to allegedly make fun of the fact that raising funds is the only way for poor people to buy these medicines.

The foundation asked for “the highest degree of sensitivity and compassion” when it comes to talking about people suffering from SMA.

During his show, “India’s Got Latent” Raina pointed out a charity case of a two-month-old baby. He said “something crazy” had happened, “A two-month-old baby requires a Rs 16 crore injection.”

Addressing a woman in the audience, he added, “Ma’am, you tell me… if you were that mother and one day Rs 16 crore appeared in your bank account… while you had a two-month-old… wouldn’t you at least look at your husband once and say…’Hmmm… inflation is rising’.”

Honey Singh poses with Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, says ‘borderless brothers’

Mumbai, Jan 8 (IANS) Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh has called Pakistani singer Atif Aslam his “borderless brother”.

Honey Singh took to his Instagram, where he shared a picture with Aslam. In the image, the two musicians are seen standing next to each other and striking a pose for the camera.

“Borderless Brothers !! March born brothers #aatifaslam #yoyohoneysingh #border #music #india #pakistan #uae (heart emoji) ,” Honey Singh, who has delivered chartbuster hits such as “Blue Eyes”, “Angrezi Beat” and “Millionaire” among many others, wrote as the caption.

Last month, Honey Singh posed for a picture with Rhea Chakraborty and said that it feels amazing to meet a “strong woman” like her.

Honey Singh took to his Instagram, where he shared a picture posing alongside Rhea. In the image, the “Desi Kalakaar” hitmaker, who is seen dressed in an all blue outfit, is seen striking a pose next to Rhea, who has her arm around the rapper’s shoulder, as they got clicked.

Tagging her as a “brave soul”, he wrote: “Its feels so amazing to meet a strong woman for real @rhea_chakraborty #bravesoul.”

The rapper recently sat for a chat with comedians Tanmay Bhat, Rohan Joshi and Aaditya Kulshreshth. During the promotional video, Honey Singh said that he is madly in love.

He said, “I’ve done a lot of crazy things. I’ve done extreme things. I mean, I’ve done anything extreme in my life. I’m in a relationship”.

He then shared that finding love while being surrounded by glamour is very tricky because it becomes difficult to gauge if the person has fallen in love with him as a person or it’s his aura that they have fallen for.

He went on to share that he sometimes did not tell who he really is to the girls that he got romantically involved with, and would not tell them his real name. It got to a point where his team would get confused as to what name should be used on his boarding pass.

However, the rapper confirmed that he is in a relationship.

Aslam has recorded many songs in both Pakistan and India, and is known for his vocal belting technique. Born in Wazirabad, Pakistan, Aslam started his music career in early 2000s. He released his first album titled “Jal Pari”.

He made his debut in Bollywood music industry In 2005 by lending his vocals for a film “Zeher” starring Emraan Hashmi. In the Hindi film industry, he has belted out hits such as “Tere Bin”, “Bas Ek Pal”, “Piya O Re Piya”, “Be Intehaan”, “Jeena Jeena” and “O Saathi” among many others.

Nushrratt hilariously panics as ‘bestie’ Ishita Raj takes over her new wheels

Mumbai, Dec 15 (IANS) Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha was hilariously a nervous wreck after her best friend and actress Ishita Raj took over the steering wheel of her new luxurious car.

Nushrratt took to her Instagram stories, where she shared a video of the two going out for a night out.

In the funny video, Nushrratt is heard telling her “Pyaar Ka Punchnama” co-star: “Araam se Ishita! Pehele udhar dekho, traffic dekho , fir right jao. (Be careful Ishita, First see here and then see the traffic).”

To which, Ishita said that she has seen and she then questions Nushrratt if she is teaching her on how to drive a car.

Nushrratt replies: “I am teaching you how to drive my car.”

Pat comes the reply from Ishita, who says that Nushrratt needs to learn how to drive her own car. A nervous Nushrratt adds that she doesn’t know what will happen to her car.

For the caption, she wrote: “When your bestie takes over your new wheels.”

The two actresses-turned-best friends first worked together in the 2011 film “Pyaar Ka Punchnama”, a romantic comedy directed by Luv Ranjan. The film stars Kartik Aaryan, Divyendu Sharma, Raayo S. Bakhirta, Nushrat Bharucha, Sonnalli Seygall and Ishita Raj Sharma and follows the story of three working bachelors who find girls whom they fall in love with and the twists and turns of the newly developing love stories.

They were next seen in the second installment of the franchise in 2015 and also “Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety” which released in 2018.

On the work front, Nushrratt will next be seen in “Chhorii 2,” a sequel to the 2021 film, directed by Vishal Furia and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis, Shikhaa Sharma, and Shiv Chanana, earned praise from audiences for its gripping storytelling and eerie atmosphere.

The horror thriller was a remake of the Marathi film “Lapachhapi” and features Nushrratt in the lead role, alongside Mita Vashisht, Rajesh Jais and Saurabh Goyal. The film premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 26 November 2021.

The makers announced the second installment of “Chhorii,” starring Nushrratt and Soha Ali Khan in lead roles.

Meanwhile, Ishita was last seen in “Wild Wild Punjab,” which released digitally.
