Jackky Bhagnani on two years with ‘backbone’ Rakul Preet Singh: Thank you for being mine

Hyderabad, Oct 10 (IANS) Director Maruthi, who is now in Greece filming a couple of songs for his eagerly awaited horror thriller ‘The Raja Saab’, has now put out a post to make the point that he was awestruck by the energy Prabhas was generating in the dance numbers.

Taking to its X timeline, director Maruthi posted an iconic scene from director S S Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ in which Kattappa lifts the heel of Baahubali and places it on his head and wrote, “Watching my darling #Prabhas energy for the songs.Just remembered this one. #TheRajaSaab 9th Jan 2026 Inka mee opika.”

The unit of ‘The Raja Saab’ is currently in Greece to film the final two songs of the film. It may be recalled that the unit has already completed all the talkie portions of the film. In fact, the unit has also begun dubbing for the film.

The film, which was originally scheduled to hit screens worldwide on December 5 this year, is now slated to release on January 9 next year.

The film has triggered huge interest among fans and film buffs and a spine-chilling but really well cut trailer of the film that the makers released recently has only gone on to add to the excitement.

The trailer that was released opens with actor Prabhas being hypnotised by a trained expert to learn of his past. As Prabhas delves back into his past, he senses the presence of a weird creature in the dark and snaps out of his slumber. It is not just spine tingling horror that the film offers. There is also an adequate amount of humour as the trailer then goes on to show.

One sequence in the trailer shows a spirit getting ready to confront Prabhas, who welcomes the spirit calling it his granddad and offering to introduce it to those around him. A perplexed VTV Ganesh wonders why they would want to be introduced to the spirit to which Prabhas says, “Then, what are you waiting for? Run!”

The film seems to have romance, action and humour all in adequate amounts along with horror. The trailer gives the impression that audiences will be in for a treat with regard to action. The character of Sanjay Dutt is introduced next. A voice over says, ” He is not some street magician who knows a few spells. He’s an exorcist, a hynotist and a psychiatrist. He’s playing with our brains.”

Finally, we get to see another Prabhas as a demon. “What’s your problem? Am I an ant to sting you when you reach into the anthill? I’m the demon,” he says even as he stylishly smokes a cigar, seated upside down on a throne that appears to be hanging from the ceiling.

The film has triggered huge expectations as Prabhas will be seen stepping into uncharted territory with this project. For those unaware, The Raja Saab will be Prabhas’s first full-fledged horror entertainer.

The film has cinematography by Karthik Palani and music by Thaman S.

The cast of ‘The Raja Saab’ includes the stunning trio of Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar, who are expected to add charm, elegance, and freshness to the eerie yet colourful world of The Raja Saab.

Mumbai, Feb 16 (IANS) Ektaa Kapoor’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee has issued a statement on Hindustani Bhau accusing the producer in the 2020 case. Hindustani Bhau had filed a misleading complaint against Ektaa Kapoor, accusing her of disrespecting our jawans.

Now, Ektaa Kapoor’s lawyer has raised the issue of filing a civil defamation suit, seeking 100 crores against damages.

Talking about the same, Ektaa R Kapoor’s lawyer has issued a statement on the case, saying, “Under instructions and on behalf of my client Ms. Ektaa R. Kapoor, her family members and ALT Digital Media Entertainment Ltd., I would like to place on record as under:

1) That some persons and entities with personal vested interests coupled with hidden agendas and criminal motives are posting false and misleading information, concerning my said clients and an old 2020 police complaint, which was already closed by the said Police Department.

2) That when the said matter was again taken up before the Learned 9th Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Bandra Court, he did NOT take any cognizance of the said complaint and has instead asked for a police investigation report ‘to first ascertain the veracity and genuineness of the complaint brought before him. This is called ‘postponement of issuance of process under law. That under such given situation, no one should have recklessly issued any public statement or article, therein directly or indirectly insinuating or suggesting that my client has committed any wrong, as alleged.

That regardless of this fact and the legal position, some people are still criminally trying to defame my clients and garner publicity, at the cost of their name and reputation. Accordingly, I have been instructed to initiate strict legal proceedings both under the civil as well as criminal laws, against such wrong-doers.

Accordingly, do note that my clients are interalia contemplating to sue such wrong-doers by filing a 100 Crores civil defamation suit against them, besides criminal proceedings.”

Mumbai, Dec 23 (IANS) Actress Meenakshi Seshadri has stepped into the role of a singer as she revisits fond memories of her 1985 film “Lover Boy”, which completed over four-decades since its release in December.

To mark the milestone, the actress has remixed the film’s romantic title track in her own voice, calling it a special Christmas and New Year gift for her fans and friends.

Taking to Instagram, Meenakshi was seen dancing to the title track of “Lover Boy”, which she crooned by herself. She spoke about how the movie’s title track, remembered for its romance and lyrical beauty.

She added: “My movie “Lover Boy” co-starring Rajiv Kapoor and Anita Raaj was released 30 years back in the month of December. The title track which is really romantic and lyrically beautiful has always inspired me.”

“I decided to remix it in my own voice as a special Christmas and New year gift to all fans and friends. Bahon me…”

Lover Boy is a 1985 film directed by Shomu Mukherjee. It stars Rajiv Kapoor in a double role, along with Meenakshi Sheshadri and Anita Raj. The film tells the story of twins Kishan and Kanhaiya, who swap their identities so that they can win over Radha. However, Bijli tries to foil their plans as she desperately loves Kishan.

Talking about Meenakshi, she became one of Hindi cinema’s leading actresses in the 1980s and 1990s.

She made her debut with the film Painter Babu in 1983 and her second film Hero catapulted her to instant stardom.

Meenakshi gained stardom with her work in films such as “Aandhi-Toofan”, “Meri jJung,” “Swati,” “Dacait,” “Inaam Dus Hazaar,” “Shahenshah,” “Awaargi,” “Ghar Ho To Aisa,” “Damini” and “Ghatak”. A documentary was made about her life, titled Meenakshi Accept Her Wings.

She was last seen in “Ghatak: Lethal” in 1996 Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Sunny Deol, Meenakshi Seshadri, Amrish Puri, and Danny Denzongpa.

It was the highest-grossing Bollywood film in terms of domestic Box office collection and second highest grossing overall in terms of worldwide collection that year.
