Mumbai, June 26 (IANS) Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai recently took a trip down memory lane as he reminisced about the making of his iconic 1997 film “Pardes.”
Sharing a nostalgic behind-the-scenes photo from the film’s shoot at Fatehpur Sikri, Ghai reflected on the passionate collaboration that brought the story to life. In his heartfelt note, the director emphasized that a memorable film like “Pardes” is only possible when writers, directors, and actors come together with equal passion and commitment.
He credited the film’s emotional depth and timeless appeal to the combined efforts of his co-writer Neeraj Pathak, dialogue writer Javed Siddiqui, and lead actor Shah Rukh Khan—especially in powerful scenes like the film’s climax.
Subhash Ghai posted a BTS image featuring SRK and other members of the film’s team. In the photo, the director is seen explaining a scene to the actor. For the caption, Ghai wrote, “A memorable film like Pardes can be made only when writers director n actors work together passionately in building up every moment of film That happened exactly when my co-writer Neeraj Pathak my dialogue writer Javed Siddiqui. N my super actor Shahrukh khan put their full energy in creating n performing a scene like this in climax I Just got a picture of shooting of Pardes in Fatehpur Sikri When imagination meets creativity & if they together hit the right notes…..Magic happens. Like each film of yours did sir.”
“Pardes,” a musical romance, was helmed by Subhash Ghai, who also served as the producer and co-writer under his banner, Mukta Arts. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, alongside debutants Mahima Chaudhry and Apurva Agnihotri. It also boasts a strong supporting cast, including Alok Nath, Amrish Puri, and Himani Shivpuri.
The film was later adapted into Telugu as “Pelli Kanuka” in 1998, featuring Jagapati Babu, Lakshmi, and Banumathi Ramakrishna. “Pardes” was released on 8 August 1997.

Mumbai, Jan 19 (IANS) Just like everyone else on social media these days, actress Shilpa Shetty also decided to look back at her bittersweet memories from the year 2016.
Walking down memory lane, Shilpa recalled the painful goodbye to her father, Surendra Shetty, who passed away in 2016.
However, it also happened to be the year when Shilpa realized some of her professional dreams.
Reliving all the memories, Shilpa penned on her official Instagram handle, “2016 : walk down memory lane…So many highs, so many lows.. watched a dream come true with my book, celebrated milestones and … a painful goodbye to daddy. But Cest la vie.. keep making memories, cause that’s all our souls take with them (sic)”.
On December 22, last year, Shilpa fondly remembered her late dad on his birth anniversary.
Posting a couple of beloved memories with her father on her official Instagram handle, the ‘Dhadkan’ actress wrote on social media, “Cheers to 85, Dad! I hope you are enjoying your single malt up there.”
Before that, on October 11, Shilpa had shared another emotional post on her father’s 9th death anniversary.
Uploading a sweet throwback photo with her papa from her childhood on Insta, she penned, “Miss your smile .. Miss YOU Daddy (Red heart emoji) 9 years today (folded hands emoji).”
The still showed little Shilpa being tickled by her father, leaving a bright smile on her cute face.
For those who do not know, Shilpa’s father passed away on October 11, 2016, at his home in Versova after suffering a cardiac arrest. While he was immediately rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, he was pronounced dead by the doctors.
Work-wise, Shilpa will next grace the screen with “KD: The Devil”.
Made under the direction of Prem, the project stars Dhruva Sarja in the titular role, along with Sanjay Dutt, V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Reeshma Nanaiah, Jisshu Sengupta, and Nora Fatehi as the supporting cast.

Punjab, Oct 27 (IANS) The star cast of the forthcoming film ‘Ikk Kudi’ visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar on Monday, including the lead Shehnaaz Gill.
Speaking during her religious visit, the ‘Bigg Boss 13’ contestant said, “We have come to the city of the Guru to seek Waheguru’s blessings for our film. Our film ‘Ikk Kudi’ is releasing on October 31, and we hope it turns out to be a super-duper hit.”
Shehnaaz added that people of Punjab are extremely loving. “I had come here before, and now my brother is also making his mark in the Punjabi film industry. I want all Punjabi people to support him — he is a son of our home,” she said with a smile.
Talking about the film, Shehnaaz stated that “Ikk Kudi” depicts a story from 1950 to 2025, and hence, the audience will get to witness many colors and emotions.
She added, “The film was shot in Chandigarh, and it portrays the complete Punjabi atmosphere. When the audience watches it, they will feel that this is a story connected to the soil of Punjab.”
She further mentioned that the film was initially supposed to be released on September 19; however, due to the floor situation in Punjab, it will now be out on October 31.
Shehnaaz shared that several artists from the Punjabi film industry have worked on this project from the ground up. “Our entire team has worked wholeheartedly so that Punjabi cinema can reach a new height,” she concluded.
Shehnaaz will also be making her debut as a producer with the drama. She revealed that she would not have ever said no to “Ikk Kudi”.
The ‘Honsla Rakh’ actress said, “Ikk Kudi is my first film as a producer, and I’m overjoyed to bankroll a female-centric narrative about a young woman and the challenges she faces around marriage. The film is loaded with twists and turns, but it’s brimming with warmth, love and fun.”
“To pick a strong narrative that thrives on a strong message is something that makes me feel proud, and I wouldn’t have ever said ‘no’ to Ikk Kudi,” she added.
