Madhya Pradesh govt bans selling liquor, meat on Jan 22

Bhopal: In light of the upcoming ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, the Madhya Pradesh government has issued a ban on the sale of liquor and meat. Slaughterhouses and shops selling meat and fish will be closed across the state on this day.

The State Urban Development Department has directed civic bodies to ensure the closure of meat shops and slaughterhouses on January 22. Additionally, the government has declared January 22 as a ‘dry day,’ instructing the police and district administration to enforce the closure of liquor shops throughout the state.
