Mohit Suri: Cannot be an amazing love story if everything’s hunky dory between boy, girl

New Delhi, April 25 (IANS) National-Award winning actress Kalki Koechlin said she gets “bored easily” and emphasised the importance of staying creatively fulfilled by balancing routine work with inspiring activities.

Asked in an industry that often rewards conformity, how has she stayed true to her artistic voice, Kalki told IANS: “I think I get bored easily, so I constantly do things to entertain myself and keep myself satisfied. I’ve always found it important to balance routine, mind-numbing work with something that inspires and excites me.”

“It’s similar to how kids get bored in school if they’re just told to repeat something over and over… In the same way, I think adults also need fuel,” said the actress, who made her Hindi film debut as Chanda in the black comedy-drama Dev.D in 2009.

The actress, who has worked in acclaimed movies such as That Girl in Yellow Boots, Margarita With A Straw, Ribbons, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, believes that refueling through experiences like travel and stimulating content helps her stay true to her artistic voice, especially while navigating both commercial and indie cinema.

“They need things that excite them, like reading, watching stimulating content, and traveling. I think that fills your cup, allowing you to give something new in return,” said Kalki.

“That’s why people take sabbaticals, why they take time out to address their own needs, and then are able to contribute again. This is particularly relevant for someone like me, who moves fluidly between commercial and independent cinema,” said the 41-year-old star.

Kalki was last seen on the big screen in 2023’s “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan” a coming-of-age buddy drama film directed by Arjun Varain Singh.

The film stars Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Adarsh Gourav as three friends who navigate their goals and relationships against the pressures of social media. Kalki Koechlin, Anya Singh and Rohan Gurbaxani appear in supporting roles.

Mumbai, June 8 (IANS) One of the most adored pairs from Punjabi cinema, Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa are all set to grace our screen yet again in the highly-awaited horror comedy, “Sardaar Ji 3”.

Fueling the excitement for the forthcoming sequel, Dilijit has treated the netizens with a string of behind-the-scenes pictures from the shoot of “Sardaar Ji 3”.

The protagonist further announced that the teaser of the drama slated to reach the cinema halls on June 27, will be unveiled shortly.

The primary photo of the post showed Diljit sitting at the dining table surrounded by his beautiful Chudels. In the second click, Diljit maintained his position on the table, but this time, he just had co-star Neeru by his side.

We also got a gamut of solo images of Diljit amidst stunning backdrops of what seemed to be abroad locations.

The post further showed Diljit posing with his fans in between the shots of “Sardaar Ji 3”.

In another capture, he is in the embrace of his heroine during the shoot of mostly likely a romantic track from the movie.

“Jaggi With Beautiful Chudels. SARDAAR JI 3 Releasing 27th June. Teaser Coming Soon,” Diljit’s post read.

Made under the direction of Amar Hundal, the cast of the drama further includes Gulshan Grover, Manav Vij, Nasir Chinyoti, Monica Sharma, and Saleem Albela, along with others.

It was initially reported that Pakistani actress Hania Aamir would be making her Bollywood debut with “Sardaar Ji 3”, however, following the cross-border tension between India and Pakistan, she was allegedly dropped from the drama.

The makers have already unveiled the first look poster from the film, which had Diljit standing at the center surrounded by women with their faces covered by veils.

Diljit and Neeru became fan favorites with some blockbuster hits including “Jatt & Juliet”, “Jatt & Juliet 2”, and “Shadaa”, along with the first installment in the “Sardarji” franchise.

Mumbai, June 12 (IANS) Actor Ali Fazal, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Metro… In Dino’, has spoken about the genius of the film’s director, Anurag Basu.

The actor recently sat for a chat with IANS, and spoke about the hyperlink structure of the film’s narrative, and how he was in for a surprise when his ‘Mirzapur’ co-actor Pankaj Tripathi was inside a car which he didn’t even realise during a scene.

‘Metro… In Dino’ marks the final chapter in Anurag’s trilogy of hyperlinked films. In ‘Ludo’, all the characters didn’t know where the other character was coming from, in the climax, and it’s pretty much the same this time around as well.

Speaking with IANS, Ali said, “Yeah, that he has kept. And he went to a point where I have a shot in the film when I come in front of the car. The car almost touched me. I took that shot. Now Pankaj Tripathi sir was sitting in the car. Anurag sir didn’t let me know. I didn’t know. He briefed me for the scene saying, ‘There is a car. If you feel that it is going to hit you, you go from here’. Like a normal picture vehicle”.

He further mentioned, “And I didn’t know Pankaj ji was sitting there. Later, Pankaj ji told me, during the promotional run of the film, ‘When you came in front of the car, so and so happened’. I was like, ‘Which car?’. He said, ‘There’s this car in one of the scenes, I took the dialogue. As soon as I saw you, I said something’. I said, ‘I don’t remember’. Then suddenly it hit me, and I was like, ‘Oh, you were in that white car’. So, I like these little surprises”.
