MP CM Mohan Yadav to address two election rallies in Bihar today

Bhopal/Patna, Oct 16 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will actively campaign for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates in the high-voltage Bihar Assembly elections.

CM Yadav will address two election rallies — one in Kumhrar Assembly constituency in Patna Sahib and the second in the Bikram constituency in Patna district on Thursday, according to the details shared from the Madhya Pradesh BJP office.

Along with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, around 100 BJP leaders from Madhya Pradesh have been deployed for the Bihar Assembly elections. Most of the leaders, including ministers who have been assigned for the Bihar elections, have begun shifting to the state.

Among the senior BJP leaders from the state who will be campaigning in Bihar are former MP BJP chief V.D. Sharma, ex-home minister Narottam Mishra, ex-minister Arvind Singh Bhadoriya, Minister Vishwas Sarang and General Secretary (Organisation) Hitanand Sharma and several others.

Polling for the 243-member Bihar Assembly will be held on November 6 and 11. Results will be declared on November 14.

On Wednesday, PM Modi addressed the BJP’s booth-level workers in Bihar, saying that it was the might of people’s votes that saved the state from the ‘evil eyes’ of RJD and Congress in the last elections.

“The NDA’s victory on vote-counting day (November 14, 2025) will happen again,” the PM said, urging the BJP workers to reach out to every household to spread awareness about the schemes launched by the Centre and the Nitish Kumar government. He also gave the slogan “Ekjut NDA, Ekjut Bihar – Isse banegi sushashan ki sarkar”.

The BJP on Wednesday also released its third list of 18 candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections in November. With this list, the BJP has announced candidates in all 101 Assembly seats, which it got under the seat-sharing arrangements in NDA.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, released its first list of 14 candidates. The list figures two women candidates and three from the SC community.

New Delhi, Sep 3 (IANS) A person from minority community including Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi and Christian from neighbouring nations including Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan, who were compelled to seek shelter in India due to religious persecution or fear of it and entered into India on or before 31st December, 2024 – with or without valid documents including passport or other travel documents, will be exempted from any penal action, said a government notification.

The declaration, allowing non-Muslim minority migrants to stay in the country without their passports, has been made in the Immigration and Foreigners Act 2024, which came into force after its notification on September 1 (Monday).

The development has been hailed and widely welcomed by the BJP, as this opens doors for harassed and troubled minorities from the neighbouring countries to seek refuge in the country – a concept championed by the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Union Minister of State for Education Sukanta Majumdar called it “a true step towards justice & humanity”.

Taking to X, he wrote, “In a landmark decision, the Govt of India has allowed minorities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh & Pakistan — Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi & Christian — who entered India on/before 31st Dec 2024 due to religious persecution, to stay even without valid documents. A true step towards justice & humanity!”

Moreover, according to the Immigration and Foreigners (Exemption) order 2025, the citizens of Nepal and Bhutan and Tibetans who entered India from 1959 to May 2003 on the special entry permit and are registered with the foreign registration officer, have been given similar relaxation.

The notification further said that the members of the Navy, military and Air Forces entering India on duty and members of the family of any such person, when accompanying such person on a government transport, will get exemption under the Immigration and Foreigners Act. Also, those foreigners holding diplomatic passports will not require a visa.

JEE Main 2025 session 2 results declared, 24 candidates score 100 percentile

New Delhi, April 19 (IANS) The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday officially declared the results of JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Paper 1 on its official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.

Notably, 24 candidates have achieved a perfect 100 percentile score in the exam, with the highest number of toppers hailing from Rajasthan, followed by Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana, among other states.

The NTA announced that the results of 110 candidates found using unfair means, including forged documents, in JEE (Main) have been withheld. More than 9.92 lakh candidates had appeared for the second edition of the crucial exam.

The JEE Main 2025 scorecard includes a detailed breakdown of each candidate’s performance, featuring raw marks, subject-wise percentiles, the overall NTA score, All India Rank (AIR), and JEE Advanced eligibility status.

Alongside individual scores, NTA has also released the category-wise cut-offs for JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility. These cut-offs will help students evaluate their chances of progressing to the next phase or securing seats through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process, expected to commence in June 2025.

This announcement marks a crucial academic milestone for lakhs of aspirants across the country, JEE Main serves as a gateway to top engineering institutions, including NITs, IIITs, and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs).

It is also the qualifying exam for the prestigious JEE Advanced, which paves the way to admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

In a move to maintain transparency and accuracy in the evaluation process, NTA released the final answer key for the JEE Main 2025 April session on Thursday.

As per the updated key, two questions have been officially dropped, one from the April 3 first shift (domestic set) and another from the April 2 first shift (international set).

These decisions were made after reviewing valid objections submitted during the challenge window. However, the answer key was briefly removed from the official website late Thursday night.

Candidates who have qualified for JEE Advanced 2025 can now begin the registration process and ramp up their preparation. Those who did not qualify will participate in JoSAA counselling to explore other premier engineering opportunities.

Cong MLA Wadettiwar to donate six months’ salary for rain-hit Maharashtra farmers

New Delhi/Nagpur, Sep 25 (IANS) After the ruling MahaYuti leaders including the BJP’s Maharashtra chief Ravindra Chavan and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar and their partymen announced that they would give one month’s salary to rain-affected farmers in Maharashtra, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on Thursday announced that he would donate his six months’ income to help the growers in distress.

Pointing out that the crop damage was widespread, Vijay Wadettiwar said that “one month’s salary won’t be of much help and that six months’ income should be donated.”

Stating that farmers have incurred heavy losses due to the rain fury in the state, the Opposition leader said that everyone should come forward and help the farmers to the maximum extent possible to pull them out of distress.

After the rains and flooding, crops have been affected by yellow mosaic virus, further adding to the woes of farmers, the Congress leader told the media.

He demanded that the Agriculture Minister should conduct a panchnama of the crop loss and announce Rs 50,000 per hectare as compensation.

Wadettiwar said that if the Maharashtra government does not come forward to help, it will be responsible for the plight of farmers in Vidarbha and Marathwada.

On Wednesday, he said that the small amount announced by the Maharashtra government is a “cruel joke”.

The Congress and NCP-SP demanded that the government declare a “wet drought” in the state.

Notably, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed that the government has already sanctioned Rs 2,215 crore financial assistance to 31.64 lakh farmers.

The Chief Minister said that out of this, Rs 1,829 crore has been distributed at the district level and will be deposited in the bank accounts of the farmers in the next 8 to 10 days.

On the fire at the BJP office in Leh and the BJP’s claims that the Congress was responsible for it, Wadettiwar said, “The claims are baseless and misleading. It is people’s opposition to their ‘jumlebaazi’. What is the Central government doing?”

Pointing out the NDA’s claim that infiltrators have entered Bihar, he slammed the government, saying, “It has been in power for the past 11 years. Is it sleeping?”
