Piyush Goyal urges every citizen to collectively work towards ‘Viksit Bharat’ goal

New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS) Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Thursday urged every citizen to collectively work towards achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, striving to become job creators and not just job seekers, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to PM Modi, Indians are not just dreaming of becoming job seekers, but also job creators, and this would strengthen India’s stature on the global stage.

Addressing the Dynamite News’ 10th anniversary celebration in the national capital, the minister said that when every citizen performs his or her duties with dedication and the nation works together with a united spirit, we can achieve the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

Goyal also shared an inspiring message about passion and perseverance. He said that when we truly desire something with all our heart, success surely follows.

The minister congratulated Dynamite News on completing a decade of impactful journalism. He praised the channel for its courage and commitment to delivering accurate and reliable news to the public.

The Union Minister also expressed hope that Dynamite News will continue its journey with the same dedication and keep doing even greater work in the years ahead.

Delivering the keynote address at the Dynamite News’ Young India Country Award 2025 event at the anniversary celebration, former Chief Justice of India, D.Y. Chandrachud, lauded the organisation for standing firmly for truthful, accurate, and fair journalism. He emphasised that responsible journalism goes beyond headlines – it requires contextual reporting.

The 10th anniversary celebration of Dynamite News was marked by an atmosphere of pride and joy as several distinguished personalities attended the grand event.

Along with Chief Guest Goyal, several other eminent figures from the fields of politics, media, and public service graced the occasion.

Cold wave intensifies in Rajasthan, fog alert for 14 districts today

Jaipur, Jan 18 (IANS) Biting cold conditions intensified in Rajasthan with many cities, including Jaipur, recording a 2 to 3 degrees Celsius drop in minimum temperature due to the influence of northern winds.

Bharatpur, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu, and Alwar reported cold-day conditions, with the weather centre predicting rainfall next week.

The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for fog in 14 districts of the state on Saturday.

On Friday, Jaipur’s maximum temperature was 18.5 degrees Celsius.

Weather experts said that people may have some respite form the bone-chilling cold from Sunday, with sunny skies expected to raise both day and night temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

Mount Abu saw a sharp drop in temperature, with the mercury plunging to 0.8 degrees Celsius on Friday.

The minimum temperatures were below 10 degrees Celsius in all cities except Kota and Dungarpur.

Further, the minimum temperature in Ajmer was 6.9 degrees Celsius, Bhilwara 9.6 degrees Celcius, Alwar 7.5 degrees Celsius, Sikar four degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer seven degrees Celsius, Sirohi 3.8 degrees Celsius, Mount Abu had 0.8 degree Celsius and Dausa 7.3 degrees Celcius.

According to the Jaipur Meteorological Centre, a western disturbance will affect Rajasthan, starting January 22, leading to significant weather changes.

This system may bring rain and thunderstorms to parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions.

The weather will remain dry from January 20, with day and night temperatures expected to rise slightly.

The desert state has been severely affected by cold waves brought in by cyclonic winds.

The state government has also been announcing holidays in schools in the wake of the cold conditions and reduced visibility due to fog.

Notably, the chilling cold conditions in North India have led several states to extend winter vacations.

BRS welcomes SC order on Kancha Gachibowli land

Hyderabad, April 16 (IANS) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao on Wednesday welcomed the Supreme Court’s directive to restore the Kancha Gachibowli forest in Hyderabad.

He described the apex court’s order to the Chief Wildlife Warden to protect the wildlife on the land as a major victory for environmentalists and all who fought to preserve Kancha Gachibowli. He urged the Revanth Reddy government to stop acting recklessly.

KTR, as the BRS leader is popularly known, extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who opposed the Congress government’s ‘oppressive’ actions and fought to protect the trees and wildlife in Kancha Gachibowli, particularly the students and faculty of Hyderabad Central University. He credited their tireless efforts with saving the 400-acre forest.

KTR also expressed delight over what he called the Supreme Court’s acknowledgement of the Central Empowered Committee’s observation that a potential Rs 10,000 crore financial fraud may have occurred in the land mortgage dealings involving the 400-acre Kancha Gachibowli forest.

He stated that the Supreme Court’s orders have validated BRS’ allegations that forest land in Kancha Gachibowli was illegally pledged to a private company.

KTR urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to act responsibly, emphasising that the Congress government’s attempts to misuse power to harm the environment and evade accountability will no longer succeed.

The former minister stated that the Supreme Court’s orders have confirmed BRS’ allegations that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attempted to misappropriate Telangana’s wealth worth Rs 10,000 crore. He remarked that this ruling further establishes Revanth Reddy as a key adversary to Telangana’s people, forests, and wildlife.

KTR expressed hope that the apex court’s orders would significantly advance environmental conservation efforts not only in Hyderabad but across Telangana.

Meanwhile, BRS social media in-charges Krishank Manne and Konatham Dileep, who were booked by police for allegedly posting AI-generated videos about Kancha Gachibowli land, have welcomed the Supreme Court.

Krishank took to X to ask if Revanth Reddy would file false cases against the Supreme Court. He referred to the Supreme Court’s observation that they saw dead deer after cutting down trees.

Dileep stated that the Supreme Court stated facts. “Attention Revanth Reddy, his cabinet ministers and some advisor jokers who are misleading everyone, saying there are no animals in Kancha Gachibowli and all animals in photos and videos are AI-generated! And they filed dozens of cases on students, activists who questioned this mindless deforestation,” he posted.

Gujarat first state to equip anganwadi centers with gas connections: Minister

Gandhinagar, Feb 27 (IANS) Gujarat has set a national benchmark by becoming the first state in India to provide gas connections to all its 53,065 Anganwadi centers, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Praful Pansheriya said on Thursday.

Speaking in the state assembly, Minister Pansheriya confirmed that every Anganwadi center in Gujarat now has a gas connection, ensuring a safer and healthier cooking environment for workers and children.

Highlighting the scale of the initiative, the minister stated that Kheda district has received 1,979 gas connections, Gandhinagar 951, Mahisagar 1,316, Aravalli 1,450, and Jamnagar 888 connections across all its Anganwadi centers. The government has allocated Rs 6,630 per center to implement this scheme.

He emphasised that this move was made with the health and safety of Anganwadi workers and children in mind.

“Traditional wood-fired cooking methods expose workers and children to smoke, leading to respiratory issues and eye irritation. With gas connections now in place, these health risks are minimised, food preparation is faster, and the initiative also contributes to environmental conservation by reducing wood consumption,” he said.

Addressing concerns over safety, the minister assured that all necessary precautions are being followed.

He added that regular inspections are conducted, and any identified issues are promptly resolved to maintain the highest safety standards.

“Gujarat’s proactive approach in implementing this scheme reinforces its commitment to the well-being of children and Anganwadi workers while setting an example for other states to follow,” he claimed.

He further claimed that as of June 30, 2023, the state boasts 53,027 operational Anganwadi centers, with 52,289 Anganwadi workers and 45,334 helpers dedicated to serving children and mothers across urban and rural regions.

He added that these centers, integral to the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) program, offer a range of services encompassing nutrition, health, and early childhood education.

“Their primary objectives include combating malnutrition, reducing child mortality, and laying a strong foundation for cognitive and social development. Gujarat government, in collaboration with the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) group, announced the construction of 607 new Anganwadi-Nand Ghars in 2024. This initiative aims to provide modern facilities and create a conducive environment for early childhood development,” he said.
