PM Modi to Address Rally in Bengal on March 7

New Delhi: West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar announced on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the state on March 7 to address a rally in Barasat, North 24 Parganas district.

Majumdar stated that although the state BJP initially aimed to hold the rally in the trouble-stricken area of Sandeshkhali within the same district, concerns about potential obstruction from the state administration and the ruling Trinamool Congress prompted a change in plans.

“As a result, it has been decided to hold the rally in Barasat instead, with the Prime Minister as the keynote speaker,” Majumdar informed reporters in New Delhi, where he is currently attending the party’s National Convention.

State BJP sources highlighted the significance of the proposed rally, noting that PM Modi is expected to address recent events, including protests by local women in Sandeshkhali. Majumdar emphasized that the Prime Minister’s visit aims to ensure the safety and protection of women in Sandeshkhali.
