Swanand Kirkire to star alongside ‘talented co-stars’ Ayushmann Khurrana, Sharvari

Mumbai, Feb 20 (IANS)Swanand Kirkire is all set to be a part of filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya’s upcoming romantic family drama Yeh Prem Mol Liya starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari, whom the National-Award winner says are “incredibly talented”.

“Working on this film has been a genuinely enjoyable experience and a great time on sets. There’s a certain warmth on a Rajshri set, it really does feel like being part of a family, true to their brand of cinema. My co stars are incredibly talented.”

Kirkire said that Ayushmann is a very “grounded actor and a pleasure to work with.”

Heaping praise on the actress, he added: “Sharvari brings a wonderful energy to the set, and collaborating with both of them has been truly a good experience.”

“Even the time spent between shots has been easy and enjoyable. Above all, it’s most special to be part of a film in a genre that the entire family can watch and enjoy together. Rajshri and Sooraj are known for bringing families to theatres,” shared Kirkire.

Talking about being a part of the Rajshri film, he says it “carries its own legacy.”

“There’s a certain purity and belief in goodness that the banner represents, and to collaborate with a team that values emotional honesty over spectacle is incredibly refreshing. Sharing the screen with Ayushmann and Sharvari has also been a beautiful experience they both bring such individuality and sensitivity to their craft.”

Describe working with Sooraj Barjatya, Kirkire said he feels like coming home to a certain kind of storytelling that shaped many of us as audiences.

“His films have always celebrated love not just between two people, but within families, across generations, in quiet gestures and unspoken understanding. When I heard the world of Yeh Prem Mol Liya, I was deeply moved by its emotional simplicity and sincerity,” Kirkire shared.

He added: “What I love about Sooraj ji’s writing is that even the silences carry meaning. There is dignity, restraint and warmth in the way he builds relationships on screen. As an actor, that is both challenging and fulfilling because you are required to underplay and yet remain emotionally present.”

In the clip, the AAP MP Raghav highlighted the issue of overpriced food and beverages at airports in Parliament and called for ‘corrective measures’ to make air travel more affordable.

Sharing the video, Parineeti wrote, “So so proud of you, my @raghavchadha88, for being a true leader for the people, and fixing a real problem! Overpriced food at airports is an issue that resonates with so many Indians (including us), and your voice has brought a real change starting with the #UdaanYatriCafe. Yayy for cheaper food and drinks at airports! Proud of you, my Ragaii!.”

On the work front, Chopra is currently shooting the second schedule of an untitled drama, with details about the cast and crew being kept under wraps. In addition, the actress is preparing for her role in Anurag Singh’s much-awaited thriller “Sanki”, where she will make her first appearance alongside Varun Dhawan.

Zoya Akhtar shares throwback from 18 years ago, recalls when ‘actors were friends who hung out on sets’

Mumbai Jan 30 (IANS) Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has taken a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and recalled a time when, in her words, “actors were friends that hung out on sets.”

Sharing a carousel post featuring a series of behind the scenes moments from her debut directorial Luck By Chance, 18 years ago, Zoya reflected back on an era that felt simpler, and more creatively driven.

Posting the throwback pictures on her social media account, Zoya captioned them it as, “Luck By Chance 2008 Those were the days:

1. It was my first

2. We shot on film

3. We had prints

4. Romance ruled the screen

5. My first hero was my first hero

6. The skies were blue

7. Actors were friends that hung out on sets

8. This was a nuanced conversation

9. Akira was a baby

10. Carlos was also a kid

11. Reema and me were unofficial co writers

12. No one looked at their phone in the morning

13. Life was a dream”

The series of pictures offer a warm sneak peek into the making of the 2008 movie. In one picture, a clapperboard from Luck By Chance can be seen marking the beginning of Zoya Akhtar’s journey as a director. Another picture captures Zoya behind the camera with cinematographer Carlos Catalan, completely engrossedld in a shot. A still from the film features Hrithik Roshan and Isha Sharvani. Other images show veteran actress Dimple Kapadia in an intense conversational scene with Bollywood late star Rishi Kapoor. Another picture also captures candid moment of Zoya with baby Akira Akhtar.

Talking about Zoya Akhtar, the director is the daughter of veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar and writer Honey Irani. She is the sister of actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar. Over the years, Zoya has directed hit movies like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Dil Dhadakne Do, Gully Boy and The Archies.

For the uninitiated, Luck By Chance starred Farhan Akhtar, Konkona Sen Sharma, Hrithik Roshan, Dimple Kapadia, Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Kapoor, Isha Sharvani and Rishi Kapoor in key roles.

The plot of the story revolved Farhan Akhtar as his journey of an industry outsider navigating Bollywood, and offered a realistic image of the Hindi Film Industry.

Aamir Khan officially locks June 20 release for ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ with first poster

Mumbai, May 5 (IANS) Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has locked the release date of his upcoming film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. The makers of the film officially confirmed the release date through the poster of the film.

The film, which is a spiritual sequel to his directorial debut ‘Taare Zameen Par’, is set to debut in theatres on June 20.

With the release of the first poster, the anticipation has reached new heights. The poster features Aamir Khan along with 10 debutant actors, hinting at yet another joyful, refreshing and enchanting tale on the horizon. With the film Aamir Khan Productions is launching 10 debutant actors, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, NamanMishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. Captivating and intriguing, the first look has ignited excitement to see more from the film.

Moreover, with ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’, the audience will witness Aamir Khan’s return to the big screen after his 2022 film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which was the official Indian remake of the Tom Hanks-starrer ‘Forrest Gump’.
