TDP issues strong warning to party’s ‘controversial’ MLA

Amaravati, Feb 12 (IANS) The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leadership has warned party MLA Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao that it will not tolerate further indiscipline.

TDP state president Palla Srinivas on Thursday met Rao and issued him a clear warning on behalf of party’s national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The party has taken serious note of Tiruvuru MLA targeting other party leaders despite warnings given in the past.

According to TDP sources, Palla Srinivas told Rao in clear terms that no individual is bigger than the party.

The TDP state president told Rao that without the party, he was nothing individually. Palla Srinivas pulled up the MLA for controversial social media posts by him and his supporters targeting other leaders.

The MLA was told that this behaviour was damaging the party’s image in the public. Palla Srinivas explained that Chandrababu Naidu is serious over the issue and has warned that if Rao fails to mend his ways, the party will stop recognising him as an MLA.

The MLA clarified that it was a mistake due to his inexperience. He assured the party state president that he would change his behavior in future and sought guidance from senior leaders.

The MLA has serious differences with some TDP leaders including party MP Kesineni Chinni.

Rao had been at the centre of controversies ever since his election in 2024 from Tiruvuru constituency in NTR district.

He was repeatedly warned by the party leadership. Last year he had, appeared before the disciplinary committee of the party.

In January last year a woman, who was upset with the MLA’s behaviour, attempted suicide.

The MLA was allegedly involved in a family dispute among the brothers in Gopalapuram village. There were allegations that he abused and attacked a woman, who is a supporter of the opposition YSR Congress Party. The woman attempted suicide by consuming poison following the incident.

Chandrababu Naidu had also summoned the MLA and advised him to change his attitude. He was also summoned before the coordination committee headed by party state president.

CBI apprehends regional provident fund commissioner over accepting Rs 1.5 lakh bribe

New Delhi, Sep 11 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) apprehended the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, Delhi (West), EPFO, while accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,50,000/- from the complainant, the investigation agency said on Thursday.

The senior govt official arrested for graft is named Jagdish Tambe, presently posted as Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, Delhi (West), EPFO.

According to the CBI, the case was registered on September 9, 2025.

“It was alleged that the accused, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, demanded illegal gratification of Rs. 3,00,000/- from the complainant for favourably settling RDA proceedings against the complainant,” the CBI said in its press statement.

“After negotiation, the accused Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I agreed to accept the bribe amount of Rs. 1,50,000 from the complainant,” it added.

To catch the accused, the CBI laid a trap on September 10 and caught the accused Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I, red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.1,50,000/- from the complainant.

The aforesaid accused person has been apprehended.

It also said that the investigation is continuing.

The strict action by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against corrupt public servants, underscores its firm commitment to curbing corruption.

Notably, the CBI in the past few months have tightened its grip to curb the menace of corruption in public offices, which directly impacts the common public.

Delhi Budget to boost NDMC’s green, infra initiatives: Kuljeet Chahal

New Delhi, March 25 (IANS) Vice Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Kuljeet Singh Chahal on Tuesday welcomed the Delhi Government’s historic Rs 1 lakh crore Budget, claiming that the civic agency would benefit from it in areas such as cleanliness, green space expansion, water supply, roads and power infrastructure.

Calling Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s maiden Budget as a major step towards the holistic development of the national capital, the NDMC Vice Chairman noted that provisions under the ‘PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme’, aimed at promoting solar energy and eliminating overhead cables, will significantly improve the quality of power supply.

Furthermore, initiatives to boost tourism and cultural heritage will enhance the global recognition of Delhi’s historic sites.

A solution-oriented app like NDMC 311 will be developed to address issues related to the Delhi Government, said Chahal adding that Rs 15 crore has been allocated in the Budget for the development of a new mobile app by the Delhi Government, modelled on NDMC 311, to ensure efficient and timely grievance redressal across various departments.

Chahal further announced that NDMC 311 will soon integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI), enabling automated complaint analysis and real-time solutions. NDMC is also transitioning to a fully digital payment system to enhance transparency and efficiency in its operations.

He highlighted that NDMC 311, launched in 2016, serves as a digital gateway for residents in the civic agency’s jurisdiction to report civic issues.

Recognised for its excellence, the app received the e-Governance Award 2021 from Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022, he said.

Currently, 59 NDMC departments are connected to the app, which has handled 37,058 (till today) complaints in 2024-25 and 38,286 in 2023-24, with an impressive 99 per cent resolution rate, he said.

Chahal said a majority of complaints are related to health and civil infrastructure, and most are resolved within 24 hours. The app also features an automatic escalation system, ensuring quick grievance resolution from junior to senior officers.

He said that the Delhi Budget is a significant step towards realising the vision of ‘Viksit Delhi’ in alignment with PM Modi’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative.

Let ED do its duty: CM Siddaramaiah on Rs 100 cr properties getting attached in MUDA case

Bengaluru, June 10 (IANS) Reacting to the latest development of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) provisionally attaching 92 immovable properties with a market value of approximately Rs 100 crore in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) case, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who is named as accused number one, stated that the ED should be allowed to do its job.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Tuesday, CM Siddaramaiah stated, “Let the ED carry out its duty. There’s no problem. No one is objecting. They are taking action on the allotment of sites to certain other persons. Let them take action.”

The ED has provisionally attached 92 immovable properties having market value of approximately Rs 100 crore under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with MUDA case.

The official statement released by the ED on Tuesday stated, “It is pertinent to mention here that the attachment of these 92 MUDA sites is in continuation to the previous attachment of 160 MUDA sites having a market value of approximately Rs 300 crore. The cumulative market value of Proceeds of Crime provisionally attached so far is approximately Rs 400 crore.”

The ED stated, “The attached properties are registered in the name of an entity, such as a housing cooperative society and individuals who are front/dummy for influential persons, including MUDA officials.

“The agency initiated an investigation on the basis of an FIR registered by the Lokayukta Police, Mysuru under various Sections of IPC, 1860 and Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others, who is the incumbent Chief Minister of Karnataka.”

The ED investigation revealed a large-scale scam in allotment of MUDA sites by flouting various statutes and government orders/ guidelines, and also by other fraudulent means. The role of ex-MUDA commissioners, including G.T. Dinesh Kumar, has emerged as instrumental in illegal allotment of compensation sites to ineligible entities/individuals, the ED stated.

Meanwhile, the petitioner in the case, Snehamayi Krishna, reacting to the development in Bengaluru, stated that CM Siddaramaiah cannot escape from the case.

“He will certainly receive punishment. Earlier, the ED had attached properties worth Rs 300 crore, and now it has confiscated properties worth Rs 100 crore. In another two to three months, the clear picture in the MUDA scam is going to unfold before the people of the state. The CM is guilty, and it will be established,” he claimed.

Krishna further stated, “After the Lokayukta officials submitted their final closure report and the High Court issued certain orders against the Enforcement Directorate, it was said that the MUDA case had been closed and that my complaint had no merit. This recent development is proof that the MUDA case is not closed. My complaint has merit, and the legal process and fight is ongoing.”

BJP MLC C.T. Ravi stated in Bengaluru that the ED has found clear evidence of corruption in the MUDA case.

“What will the Chief Minister say now? Will he say that no corruption has occurred in MUDA? Or will he accept that corruption has happened and take responsibility?” he asked.
