Telangana Education Reform Commission Chief Lauds Government Schools in Bengaluru’s BTM Constituency

Bengaluru: The BTM Assembly constituency in Bengaluru has once again come under the spotlight for its people-centric improvements in education, healthcare, roads, sewage management and waste disposal—earning it a reputation as one of the model constituencies in Karnataka.

Government schools and colleges in the constituency have particularly emerged as a talking point across the country, with some even referring to the area as an “education Kashi.” The latest validation comes from retired IAS officer A. Murali, Chairman of the Telangana Education Reform Commission, whose appreciation letter has gone viral on social media. Netizens have been applauding the efforts of local MLA and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy.

Murali, who is said to have toured several parts of Karnataka—including the BTM constituency—visited the Adugodi Government School to assess government school models that Telangana could potentially adopt. Impressed by the facilities, he penned a handwritten note in the school’s visitors’ book praising the institution’s standards.

“I am very happy to see the beautiful facilities of the Adugodi Government School. I am glad to share that I have learned many good practices from this school,” he wrote. He further added that he was pleased to know that Minister Ramalinga Reddy was “involved with heart and mind” in developing all schools in the constituency.

Murali also extended his congratulations to school officials, principals, teachers and students for their collective efforts.

Government Schools That Rival Private Institutions

Government schools in BTM constituency are now said to match private and corporate schools in several aspects—including modern computer labs, upgraded classrooms, desks, improved sanitation facilities, free bags, uniforms, notebooks, playgrounds, auditoriums, qualified teaching staff and strong academic results.

According to local stakeholders, the transformation demonstrates how effective political will can significantly elevate the quality of education available to children from economically weaker backgrounds.

The BTM Layout constituency houses 23 government schools/colleges, aided institutions and convent schools, many of them located in pockets inhabited by lower-income communities. The improvements, officials say, reflect MLA Ramalinga Reddy’s commitment to ensuring access to high-quality education for all children.
