‘Yuva Sapno Ka Safar’, Waves OTT’s anthology to release on this date

Los Angeles, Jan 29 (IANS) Hollywood star Catherine O’Hara shared that she rescued “a lot of” her ‘Schitt’s Creek’ costumes from the LA wildfires and feels very lucky that she didn’t lose her home.

The 70-year-old actress, who plays the role of Moira Rose in the hit sitcom, told UsWeekly;

“When I was evacuated two weeks ago, I took a lot of [my costumes] with me. Givenchy boots and this great outfit: A short dress with big, round, silver sequins from when I was babysitting (in the ‘Housewarming’ episode during season 5)

“I was offered a lot of wigs, but I don’t have a setup to take good care of them, so I only brought (home) the Vivien wig, which was my soap opera character’s wig. That went with me in the evacuation.”

The ‘Home Alone’ star did not lose her house in the wildfires but shared that it was down to sheer “luck” and just wants to help others.

The actress, who is married to Bo Welch said: “It didn’t feel right praying for my home to be saved. We were really lucky. The least you can do is feel horrible and just try to find ways to help others.”

She had something of a career revival with her role in the sitcom, which initially aired from 2015 until 2020, and said that it was “fun” to have a say in what her character wore on screen.

O’Hara said: “It’s just fun to work with people who collaborate and allow you to create an inconsistently crazy character with an inconsistent way of speaking and an amazing wardrobe. It relaunched opportunities for all of us.”

O’Hara is known for her comedy work on Second City Television and Schitt’s Creek. She is known for films such as After Hours, Beetlejuice and its sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

Mumbai, April 4 (IANS) An old video of the late Manoj Kumar, sharing his profound thoughts on life’s uncertainty and the inescapable reality of death, has surfaced online.

In a throwback video that is doing rounds on the internet, the legendary actor, known for his iconic roles that often portrayed patriotism and human resilience, reflected on the unpredictable nature of life and the certainty of mortality, offering a reminder of the fragility and preciousness of every moment.

In the clip, Manoj could be heard saying, “I continuously pray to God to bless everyone with success, just as I brought my dreams to life, and may everyone else’s dreams also come true. I am a well-wisher for all. Look at this moment; nobody knows what will happen in the next moment. One breath comes, and the next will come or not, no one knows about it. We cannot predict the next moment; not even an astrologer can.”

The video surfaced shortly after his passing, offering a poignant glimpse into the late actor’s reflections on life and death.

On April 4, veteran actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar passed away at the age of 87 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He was admitted to the hospital on February 21, 2025, after his health significantly worsened. In a statement, Dr. Santosh Shetty, CEO and Executive Director at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, said, “Veteran actor Shri Manoj Kumarji passed away peacefully at the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital early this morning at around 3:30 AM due to age-related health issues. He had been hospitalized for the past few weeks.”

Manoj Kumar, lovingly referred to as ‘Bharat Kumar’ for his powerful portrayal of patriotic characters, was a monumental figure in Indian cinema. Born on July 24, 1937, in Amritsar, Punjab, he left an unforgettable legacy in the film industry. His memorable roles in movies like “Shaheed,” “Upkar,” and “Rang De Basanti” struck a chord with the nationalistic spirit of the Indian audience.

A dominant presence in the 60s and 70s, Manoj Kumar starred in numerous iconic films such as “Shor,” “Do Badan,” “Roti Kapda Aur Makaan,” and “Purab Aur Paschim,” solidifying his place in Bollywood history. In addition to acting, he made significant contributions behind the camera as a director and producer.

Later in life, Manoj Kumar stepped into the political arena and, after retiring from acting, became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Chennai, Jan 29 (IANS) The makers of director Ganesh K Babu’s upcoming film, featuring actor Ravi Mohan in the lead, on Wednesday announced that the film had been titled Karathey Babu.

Releasing a title teaser on Wednesday, the production house producing the film, Screen Scene Media, wrote on its X timeline, “Maanbumigu maha janangalae. 17 varudangalukku mun R K Nagar makkalal ennakku kodukkapatta peyar adhu.” (Respected people, This name was given to me by people of RK Nagar 17 years ago) and shared the link to the title announcement teaser.”

In the teaser, actor Ravi Mohan is seen playing a politician called Shanmugha Babu representing the R K Nagar constituency. The scene shown in the teaser takes place in the State Legislative Assembly, where the Leader of the Opposition (played by K S Ravi Kumar) asks the Speaker why the Chief Minister (played by Nasser) was so interested in knowing about the old name of the RK Nagar constituency representative. The Chief Minister then gives an explanation on the significance of names, after which Shanmugha Babu (Ravi Mohan) stands up to speak. He then discloses that he was called Karate Babu and that this name was given to him by the people of R K Nagar 17 years ago.”

Directed by the immensely talented Ganesh K Babu, whose film Dada took the Tamil film industry by storm, #RM34 has cinematography by Ezhil Arasu, music by Sam C S and editing by Kathiresh Alagesan.

Well known director Rathna Kumar has co-written the script of this film, which features Daudee Jiwal as the female lead.

The title announcement teaser of the film gives one the impression that Karathey Babu will be an intense political drama. No wonder then, the teaser has raised expectations from the film among fans and film buffs.
