Mumbai, September 10 (IANS) Actor Akshaye Khanna recently caught up with his good friend and filmmaker Rajat Rawail over a relaxed lunch in Mumbai.

Rajat Rawail, on Wednesday, sharing a candid glimpse of their get-together on his social media account, wrote, “super luncheon with my best best buddy, the super talented acting juggernaut akshaye khanna & rajat rawail bandra © wed 9/9/36 © friends for ever n ever.”

In the picture, the two friends can be seen seated across a table at a restaurant, posing for the camera.

Talking about Akshaye Khanna, the actor meanwhile, continues to be in the spotlight for his choice of different roles.

After making an impact with his recent performance in Dhurandhar, the actor is now preparing to surprise audiences with another striking transformation in the upcoming mythological film ‘Mahakali’.

In the film, reportedly Akshaye Khanna will be seen as Shukracharya, the guru of the Asuras. The makers had recently unveiled the first extended glimpse, titled ‘Shukracharya’s War Cry’, showcasing the actor in an intense and dramatically transformed avatar.

Directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru and written by Prasanth Varma, Mahakali is part of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. The film also stars Sriya Reddy, Bhoomi Shetty and Rohit Saraf. It is slated to release in theatres on January 8, 2027.

For the uninitiated, Akshaye Khanna has also been riding high on the success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, in which he delivered a performance as Rehman Dakait which received widespread appreciation.

The action thriller, headlined by Ranveer Singh and featuring Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal, released in theatres on December 5, 2025. Shehnaaz on December 1 shared a video of herself along with an inspiring message about self-love.

The actress posted a video where she is seen walking down a road, effortlessly posing for the camera as she embraces the moment. Gill captioned the post with a powerful message, “Life feels lighter and brighter when you learn to enjoy your own company. It’s the most peaceful kind of happiness. #shehnaazgill.”

In the clip, Shehnaaz could be seen striking different happy poses for the camera. She looked uber cool in a kurti top paired with jeans and shoes. She also added Amit Malsar’s popular song “Jo Tum Mere Ho.”

On the work front, the 31-year-old actress gained widespread recognition after competing on the reality show “Bigg Boss 13”, where she finished in third place.

She has since appeared in several successful Punjabi films, including “Sat Shri Akaal England,” “Kala Shah Kala,” “Daaka,” and “Honsla Rakh.” In 2023, she made her Bollywood debut with Salman Khan’s film ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.’

Cynthia Nixon talks about fatal shooting of Jonathan Joss

Los Angeles, June 4 (IANS) Actress Cynthia Nixon has mourned the loss of Hollywood actor Jonathan Joss after he was fatally shot by his neighbour.

The actress has called for answers after the actor was allegedly shot and killed in San Antonio, Texas, reports ‘People’ magazine.

In a post shared to Instagram on Tuesday, June 3, the ‘Sex and the City’ actress, 59, said she was “devastated” to learn that Joss, whom she described as a “wonderfully talented actor and musician”, was fatally shot on Sunday, June 1.

As per ‘People’, she added that she and her family were big fans of Parks and Recreation. Joss, also 59, had a recurring role as Chief Ken Hotate on the sitcom.

“He and his husband had been repeatedly harassed and worse by homophobic neighbors who recently burned their house to the ground”, Nixon added.

Hours after the news broke on Sunday, his spouse, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, took to Joss’ Facebook page to reveal that he was present when Joss was shot, and claimed the issue was rooted in homophobia.

“The men were collecting mail at their old address when a former neighbour came at them shouting homophobic hate and shot Jonathan to death”, the ‘Gilded Age’ actress wrote.

Nixon said Joss died protecting the person he loved, “His husband says he would also have been shot had Jonathan not pushed him out of the way”.

She ended her post calling out local authorities.

“The San Antonio police force is saying there is “no evidence” that this was a hate crime”, Nixon wrote. “We will not let this stand”.

In a statement shared to the SAPD’s Facebook account on Monday, June 2, the department said there was “no evidence” to support the theory of Joss’ death being the result of a hate crime.

The statement read, “SAPD Homicide is currently investigating the murder of Mr. Jonathan Joss. Despite online claims of this being a hate crime, currently the investigation has found no evidence to indicate that Mr. Joss’s murder was related to his sexual orientation. SAPD investigators handle these allegations very seriously and have thoroughly reviewed all available information. Should any new evidence come to light, the suspect will be charged accordingly”.

Esha Deol marks 20 years since her jungle adventure with tigers during ‘Kaal’ shoot

Mumbai, April 29 (IANS) Actress Esha Deol took a nostalgic trip down memory lane as she marked the 20th anniversary of her 2005 supernatural thriller “Kaal.”

Sharing a behind-the-scenes picture from the sets with her co-star John Abraham, Esha reminisced about the intense two months she spent in the jungle, working closely with tigers during the film’s shoot. Known for its daring stunts and wildlife scenes, Kaal remains one of the most memorable films in Esha’s career. For the caption, the actress wrote, “20 years since we all spent 2 months in the jungle with the tigers, wonderful memories.”

She also added the song “Tauba Tauba” from “Kaal” to her post, further reminiscing about her time on set.

Directed by Soham Shah and produced by Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, “Kaal” was known for its gripping story, eerie atmosphere, and the real-life wilderness it was shot in. The film also starred Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi, and Lara Dutta in the lead roles. It was released on 29 April 2005 and was an average success at the box office.
