Anupam Kher gifts a special surprise to Satish Kaushik’s daughter Vanshika on her birthday

Mumbai, July 26 (IANS) Veteran actor Anupam Kher shared a heartwarming glimpse of his bond with late filmmaker-actor Satish Kaushik’s daughter Vanshika and revealed a special gesture that brought a smile to her face.

Taking to Instagram, the ‘Special 26’ actor shared pictures with Vanshika from her visit to his office and penned an emotional note about their relationship. Anupam wrote that some relationships are not defined by blood but by love, trust, memories, and promises that remain forever. The actor also revealed that he could not be with Vanshika on her birthday but had called and wished her.

Anupam also shared that he surprised Vanshika with a new phone before she left. However, he said the gift was not just about the material gesture but about seeing the happiness and smile it brought to her face. Sharing their video, the 71-year-old actor wrote, “The beautiful and talented! Some relationships are not defined by blood. They are defined by love, trust, memories… and a promise that silently lives on. My dearest Vanshika came to meet me at my office today. I couldn’t be with her on her birthday on the 15th, though I had called and wished her. So today became our little birthday celebration.”

“We spoke about books, films, her studies, dreams, and, as always, so many memories (of Satish) that make our conversations special. Time simply flew by. Before she left, I wanted to give her something she would carry with her every single day. So I surprised her with a new phone. It wasn’t really about the gift. It was about seeing that beautiful smile on her face, the kind of smile that fills your heart with gratitude. Life has a strange way of keeping the people we love connected. And moments like these remind me that affection, care, and family are choices we make with our hearts.”

Anupam Kher concluded the post by saying, “God bless you, my dearest #Vanshika. Kher and Satish Kaushik shared a deep and enduring friendship that lasted for several decades. The two actors worked together in several memorable projects and shared a strong bond beyond their professional association.

Following Satish Kaushik’s demise on March 9, 2023, Anupam Kher paid an emotional tribute to his close friend, whom he fondly remembered with heartfelt words. He also stood by Satish’s family during the difficult period, offering support and care to his wife and daughter Vanshika.

Mumbai, Jan 15 (IANS) Veteran poet and lyricist Gulzar exercised his right in the ongoing Maharashtra local body elections, proudly showing off his inked finger after casting his vote. Producer Kiran Rao and singer-actor Junaid Khan were also seen at polling booths, fulfilling their democratic duty on Thursday.

The 91-year-old poet and lyricist was seen in his signature white kurta-pyjama, accompanied by a companion. After casting his vote, Gulzar paused for photographers outside the polling booth and proudly displayed his inked finger.

Polling for the 29 municipal corporations began at 7.30 a.m. and will conclude at 5.30 p.m. According to the State Election Commission, arrangements have been made across 39,147 polling stations, equipped with 43,958 Control Units and 87,916 Ballot Units. In Mumbai, there are 10,111 polling stations with 11,349 Control Units and 22,698 Ballot Units.

Elections were originally scheduled for 2,869 seats, including 227 seats in the BMC. Polling is now being held for 2,801 seats, as 68 candidates were elected unopposed. No voting will take place for these uncontested seats. A total of 3.48 crore voters will decide the fate of 15,931 candidates, including 1,729 candidates in Mumbai alone. The counting of votes will take place on January 16.

Elections are being held in municipal corporations across major cities, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Kalyan-Dombivli, Vasai-Virar, Mira-Bhayandar, Solapur, Kolhapur, Amravati, Akola, Latur, Jalgaon, Dhule, Jalna, Chandrapur, Parbhani, Nanded-Waghala, Panvel, Bhiwandi-Nizampur, Malegaon, Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad, Ichalkaranji, Ahilyanagar, and Ulhasnagar.

Kangana Ranaut moves into her new MP bungalow in New Delhi

New Delhi, April 30 (IANS) Actress-parliamentarian Kangana Ranaut finally took out time to move into her MP bungalow, which is a century old, in the National Capital.

Kangana took to her Instagram stories, where she shared a video of her doing a puja ceremony as she moves into a new house for the first time. The actress looked in a white and red saree paired with golden jewellery.

“Finally got some time to Shift to Delhi MP house,” she wrote as the caption.

She then shared a picture from the temple area of her home and wrote: “It was not easy to restore a century old MP house.”

On the acting front, Kangana was last seen in the historical biographical drama film Emergency, directed and co-produced by Kangana Ranaut, based on a screenplay by Ritesh Shah.

The film is based on the Indian Emergency, it stars Kangana as former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.

In other news, Kangana had claimed that Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd had handed her a monthly bill of Rs one lakh for her Manali residence. Howver, the electricity board said her claim was not wrong and she was a defaulter in clearing dues.

The electricity board said the bill was for two months and the amount was Rs 90,384.

The board claimed that Kangana did not pay her bills regularly, and the connected load at her residence is 94.82 kW, which is 1,500 per cent more than the normal household.

In March the actress wrapped up shooting for her untitled drama, alongside R Madhavan. Touted to be a thriller, the forthcoming project has been made under the direction of AL Vijay.

She wrote, “Most amazing experience to work with really humble and supportive Suresh sir.”

She posted a picture with the team as they wrapped up filming. The picture featured Kangana posing with director A.L. Vijay and other crew members, flashing a victory sign.

The project marks Kangana and R Madhavan’s on-screen reunion after almost a decade. They last shared the screen in the 2015 blockbuster, “Tanu Weds Manu Returns”.

Besides this, Kangana enjoys an exciting lineup with the much-awaited sequel to her 2019 film “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”, named “The Legend of Didda”.

Vinay Pathak says ‘love for food’ forms basis of friendship, collaborations with Ranvir Shorey and Rajat Kapoor

Mumbai, April 14 (IANS) Actor Vinay Pathak, who is receiving good response to his work in the streaming film ‘Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa’, has shared the shared love for food is the common denominator between him, Ranvir Shorey and Rajat Kapoor.

The three actors spoke with IANS during the promotions of ‘Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa’ helmed by Rajat Kapoor, and discussed their association as collaborators and friends for over 30 years.

When asked what it’s like when they sit and jam as collaborators and friends, Vinay Pathak said, “It’s the food. It is the main cinema among us. We don’t have to deal with the camera. And, mind you, I’m a vegetarian amongst them. So, no mutton for me, no, nothing for me. But I enjoy the sheer passion for food, and that has always been there. It has never diminished its significance no matter where we go”.

The actor also spoke about his character in the film, as he strongly disagreed that the film’s story rests heavily on his shoulders despite him playing the titular character.

He told IANS, “Let me unravel the mystery for you. It does not rest on my shoulder or on my throat, which gets slit. If it did, then the film would not have been made. I think the film rests on, for me, two things, the brilliantly written screenplay and of course the dialogues and the way how Rajat has managed to handle all the aspects of the ensemble. I think the ensemble is the strongest character of our film”.

“It is almost physically one entity, how strong this ensemble is. Because once it grips you, it does not let go off you. That is how strong the ensemble is. And that means coming together of all the characters together. So, I think for me, that is the success of this particular film”, he added.
