‘Captivated’ starring Al Pacino to enter production with Rome schedule

Chennai, Feb 17 (IANS) Delighted with the fact that the collections of his film, ‘Thandel’, featuring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead, had gone past the Rs 100 crore mark, producer Bunny Vas, who bet big on the film, has now said, “We promised, we did it.”

Bunny Vas, who, prior to the release of the film, had admitted in an interview to a media publication that this was his biggest bet among all the films that he had produced so far, expressed happiness at the audience’s response to the film meeting his expectations.

Taking to his X timeline, he wrote, “We promised, we did it. #Thandel : 100+ CR gross worldwide! Blockbuster Love Tsunami he wrote.”

Earlier, the producer also shared a video clip of a group of boys imitating Sai Pallavi’s dance moves in Hilesso Hilessa at a theatre and enjoying themselves.

The film, which hit screens on February 7 this year, was directed by Chandoo Mondeti, and based on a true story in which 20 Indian fishermen from Andhra Pradesh were captured by Pakistan authorities.

Producer Allu Aravind, who presented the film, during an event disclosed the details of the true story. He said, “This true story happened in (a place) nearby Vizag, in a small village. People had gone to Gujarat for fishing for 30 days. Unfortunately, due to some weather problem, they crossed the international borders and suddenly they realised that Pakistan people had caught them and taken them to jail. Their families in the village — how they suffered, how they rose to bring them back, and what their struggle was — this is the story of the film.”

‘Thandel’ had a spectacular crew with National Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad scoring the music for the film. Cinematography for the film was by Shamdat.

National Award-winning Naveen Nooli was the editor, and Srinagendra Tangala led the art department. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, ‘Thandel’ was produced by Bunny Vasu under the banner of Geetha Arts, with Allu Aravind presenting it.

Mumbai, April 16 (IANS) Actress Rashmika Mandanna will soon grace the screen as Diya in the highly talked about sequel, “Cocktail 2”.

In her latest social media post, Rashmika decided to relive all the behind-the-scenes fun she had with her co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon while shooting the peppy number “Jab Talak” from the film.

The ‘Animal’ actress revealed that they ended up having a blast with a lot of laughter and random dancing in between the shots while filming “Jab Talak”.

Rashmika wrote on the photo-sharing app, “A page from Diya’s diary- We shot for Jab Talak in Sicily, Italy and it was all- random dancing between takes, loving dancing and just vibing, laughing at literally everything… and somehow still pulling it off with swag Diya was living her best life and you’ll know why when you watch the film…and this was a lot of chaos and a lot more of dance (sic).”

Showering love on her partners in crime and dance, Kriti and Shahid, the ‘Pushpa’ actress went on to add, “and Ally & Kunzee?? partners in dance and crime for real… I don’t think Diya Kunal and Ally had a single serious moment even when they had to be serious!! you guys are mad and you are my madness and I love you for it! #Cocktail2 releasing in cinemas worldwide on 19th June!”

Earlier, talking about the track, Kriti shared, “‘Jab Talak’ carries such a beautiful, feel-good vibe. Shooting for it felt like living the perfect summer with friends, filled with laughter, music, and pure masti against the stunning backdrop of Sicily. I had an absolute blast filming with Shahid and Rashmika, and it was amazing to see even the international crew and dancers humming along and soaking in the energy of the song”.

A sequel to the 2012 film “Cocktail”, the movie is scheduled to reach the cinema halls on June 19.

Hyderabad, Sep 29 (IANS) The makers of director Pawan Basamsetti’s eagerly awaited comedy entertainer, featuring two comical powerhouses Satya and Yogi Babu in the lead, have now announced ‘Golden Bhagyam’ as the title of their film.

Nagarjuna Reddy and Pawan Basamsetti are jointly producing the project under the banners of Dream Movie Makers and Nayavayu Chitralu.

The film marks the maiden production venture of both banners. The team on Tuesday unveiled the title with a video that offered viewers a glimpse at the unique concept.

Interestingly, this does not appear to be a conventional Telugu or Tamil film, but a ‘Telumil’ project that brings together Telugu and Tamil languages along with popular actors from both industries.

The glimpse video begins on a humorous note, with a Telugu man and a Tamil man enjoying their respective favourite foods while proudly claiming that their cuisine is the best. The Telugu character relishes biryani with a cool drink, while the Tamil character enjoys idli with sambar. Their light-hearted argument takes a fun turn when another person interrupts them and points out that there is a much bigger combination in store.

That leads to the stylish introduction of Satya and Yogi Babu, who appear in traditional white-and-white attire. The director then gives them an intriguing description of their story, revealing that it blends love with crime and action elements. The glimpse concludes with the title reveal, Golden Bhagyam.

Director Pawan Basamsetti seems to have attempted something unique by bringing together two of the most popular comedy actors from the Telugu and Tamil film industries for a bilingual crossover entertainer.

Adding to the fun, Telugu actor Satya is seen speaking Tamil, while Tamil star Yogi Babu is seen speaking Telugu. The glimpse also playfully presents them as a major Telugu-Tamil combination, with massive multi-starrer cutouts featured in the backdrop. Going by the glimpse, the film promises to be an out-and-out entertainer built around the unique chemistry of its lead actors.

Satya and Yogi Babu are expected to be the film’s biggest source of humour, with their individual comic styles and impeccable timing coming together for the first time in this setting. Sources close to the unit of the film say that Jayashree and Athiraj will play the female leads in the film. Vennela Kishore, Sudharshan, Kishore Tirumala, Rohini, Tanikella Bharani and Sunil Reddy too will be seen in pivotal roles in the film, they added.

The film also features an accomplished technical crew. Malayalam cinematographer Bablu Aju is handling the visuals, while Pawan CH is composing the music. Kamesh is in charge of the production design, with Ravi Teja Girijala overseeing the editing.

Adding another humorous touch to the announcement, the makers initially announced the film for a Sankranthi release, only to move it beyond Sankranthi and eventually announce its arrival simply within the year. The playful announcement perfectly matched the fun spirit of the project.
