Bengaluru: Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has raised a series of questions over alleged irregularities in land transactions linked to the NICE project and a joint development agreement involving D.K. Suresh and Sobha Developers, seeking explanations from Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and his family.
In a post on social media platform X, Kumaraswamy questioned the ownership of the Sobha Apartment complex near the Hosakerehalli toll gate and sought details of its alleged links to the families of Shivakumar and his brother, D.K. Suresh. He also asked about the identities and roles of Amasegowda, Bhagyalakshmi and Kempegowda in the transactions.
Kumaraswamy sought clarification on how land that was reportedly notified for a government project was subsequently purchased in the names of the Chief Minister and his mother, and how a No Objection Certificate (NOC) was obtained for the land.

He alleged that the Sobha Apartment project generated assets worth around ₹2,000 crore and referred to a reported joint development agreement between Suresh and Sobha Developers involving 22 acres in the Hosakerehalli area. Kumaraswamy claimed that Suresh received around 400 flats under the agreement.
The Union Minister also questioned the alleged denial of NOCs to economically weaker landowners whose properties were acquired along the NICE Road, including a reported refusal to grant an NOC to Sri Siddaganga Math.
He further sought an explanation over what he alleged was the acquisition of 200 to 300 acres of land by the Chief Minister and his family in the vicinity of the NICE Road. Kumaraswamy alleged that some landowners were pressured or intimidated during land transactions.
