Shilpa Shetty says ‘Here we come Goa’ as she performs inauguration puja for another Bastian outlet

Mumbai Oct 17 (IANS) Aside from being a celebrated actress, Shilpa Shetty is also a successful businesswoman. The ‘Sukhee’ actress performed the inauguration puja on Friday for the new outlet of her famous restaurant chain Bastian in Goa.

Taking to the Stories section of her Insta, Shilpa dropped sneak peeks from the puja. Dressed in a white printed salwar kameez, the ‘Dhadkan’ actress was seen performing what seemed to be a yagna.

Back in September, it was speculated that Shilpa’s iconic Bandra restaurant in Mumbai, Bastian, was shutting down. However, later she revealed that they are turning Bastian into a South Indian restaurant named Ammakai and are shifting Bastian to Juhu with the name Bastian Beach Club.

Shilpa posted a clip on social media where she was heard saying on a call, “No, I am not shutting down Bastian, I promise.”

“I have received numerous calls, but everything said, I can definitely feel the love for Bastain, but don’t turn this love into something toxic. I have literally come to say that Batian is going nowhere. We have always introduced new food, continuing with that passion, we are so excited to announce not one but two new places,” she revealed.

Announcing Ammakai and Bastian Beach club, Shilpa added, “Something new and brilliant again. Going back to my roots with a place called Ammakai – pure South India Mangalorean cuisine in our Bandra Bastian and Bastian Beach club in Juhu. So I can’t wait for all of you to try something new and experience new flavours of Bastian hospitality.”

“Bandra Bastian was the root to our tree called Bastian Hospitality, like a tree blooms new fruits our favourite Bandra restaurant is giving way to a new one called AMMAKAI, South Indian Mangalorean cuisine taking me back to my roots. Your Favourite Bastian is going to Juhu, with the name of Bastian Beach Club. So BASTIAN is staying…going nowhere!!!!!

Karan Johar reveals Sidharth, Varun, and Alia performed like stars in their debut film ‘SOTY’

Mumbai, Feb 20 (IANS) Filmmaker Karan Johar recently opened up about his experience working with Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt, and Varun Dhawan, the three actors he launched in “Student of the Year.”

During his appearance on “Game Changers” with Komal Nahta, Karan spoke about the deep bond he shares with the trio and how he believed in their potential from the very beginning. When asked who he had bet on before starting the film, KJo revealed that he never treated them like newcomers. Instead, he treated them like stars right from day one, recognizing their innate talent and star quality. According to him, this approach helped the three actors deliver remarkable performances and set them on the path to becoming some of the biggest stars in Bollywood today.

“No, I’m telling the truth, I won’t lie. For me, it was just that I told my team – Siddharth and Varun, these two were my assistants, and I met Alia for the first time when she came from school. And when I launched them, I told everyone on the set, the choreographer, the production, the designer, to treat these three like megastars,” Karan revealed.

The director further added how they are like friends to him. “They asked what it meant. I said, ‘If you give them that confidence, they will face the camera like stars. If you treat them like newcomers, they will give you the performance of newcomers. And they performed like stars. And all of them call me ‘Karna’. They are like my friends. We did a 12-day workshop, and we four were together to get to know each other.”

Released in 2012, “Student of the Year” was a teen sports drama that introduced Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra to the Bollywood industry. The film became a major box office hit, grossing over Rs 100 crore, and marked the beginning of successful careers for all three actors.

Claudia Ciesla opens up on sharing the Filmfare stage with her first co-star Akshay Kumar

Mumbai, Nov 9 (IANS) Actress and model Claudia Ciesla has opened up about performing alongside Akshay Kumar at the Filmfare Awards.

Calling it a “huge honor,” the Polish-German actress told IANS, “Performing at Filmfare is a huge honor, and it’s also a big responsibility. I’ve been training daily, focusing on strength, stamina, and flexibility. Dance rehearsals are intense, so maintaining energy levels is essential. I follow a balanced diet from my own Claudia’s Concept nutrition principles staying hydrated, eating light, and getting enough rest.”

“Mentally, I’m preparing by visualizing the performance again and again it helps me stay calm and focused. I remind myself to just enjoy every moment on that stage because opportunities like this are truly special,” she added.

The actress also shared that the performance is the perfect comeback for her in Bollywood. Claudia mentioned, “It means so much to me. I took a little break from Bollywood to focus on my personal and professional growth, including building Claudia’s Concept, my wellness and nutrition brand. Coming back to perform on such a grand stage, and that too with Akshay sir, feels like the perfect comeback moment.”

“Personally, it’s very emotional because Balma was such a milestone in my career—it introduced me to Bollywood and connected me with audiences in a special way. Professionally, this performance feels empowering and symbolic it represents a fresh chapter where I bring together everything I’ve learned over the years. It’s a reminder that when you stay dedicated to your craft and nurture yourself along the way, life always brings you back to where you truly belong,” she added.

Speaking about the choreography Claudia revealed, “We’ve kept the iconic steps that everyone loves but added new elements to surprise the audience. There are a few unexpected transitions, fresh styling, and a lot more interaction with the audience. I feel people will want to stand up and dance along it’s going to be a high-energy, visually stunning performance,” she said.

Claudia Ciesla made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar-starrer “Khiladi 786” and is popularly known as the Balma girl.

The 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025 were held at EKA Arena in Ahmedabad on October 11, 2025. The television premiere of the award night will air on November 9 on television.
