Bhopal, Sep 14 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will distribute e-scooties to meritorious students under the Chief Minister Scooty Scheme on September 19 in Bhopal.
Over 7,500 eligible students from across Madhya Pradesh are set to receive the e-scooties for the 2025-26 academic session. The initiative aims to reward academic excellence among students of government higher secondary schools and ease their commute to colleges for higher education.
To qualify, students must have secured the first position in their school in the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 70 per cent marks in the first attempt. Regular students enrolled in government higher secondary schools under the School Education Department and the Tribal Affairs Department are eligible. Students from all academic streams can benefit under the scheme.
Launched by the state government to encourage meritorious students, the Chief Minister Scooty Scheme has so far benefited more than 23,000 students across Madhya Pradesh. The government has spent approximately Rs 246 crore on the scheme to date.
Officials said the distribution of e-scooties not only recognises the hard work and achievements of talented students but also motivates others in government schools to strive for excellence.
The forthcoming event in Bhopal will see the Chief Minister personally hand over the e-scooties to selected meritorious students. Authorities have completed the process of identifying eligible beneficiaries for the current academic year.
The scheme continues to serve as an important incentive for students from government institutions to pursue higher education with greater confidence and convenience.
By facilitating mobility and recognising academic performance, the programme seeks to strengthen the participation of government school students in higher education and foster a culture of excellence.
The September 19 ceremony is expected to mark another significant milestone in the scheme’s ongoing implementation.
