MP emerging as industrial powerhouse, says CM Mohan Yadav at Malanpur event

Malanpur (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 26 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday highlighted the state’s rapid industrial transformation while inaugurating Godrej Consumer Products Limited’s expanded fourth manufacturing unit in the Malanpur industrial area of Bhind district.

The project involves an investment of over Rs 450 crore and is expected to generate more than 2,250 jobs.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said Madhya Pradesh is the only state where MoUs worth Rs 30 lakh crore were signed through the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal. While typically only about 10 per cent of such MoUs materialise, over 30 per cent of the investments have taken concrete shape in the state. Investments exceeding Rs 10 lakh crore are now being implemented in various forms. Many units have already begun production at full capacity, generating employment and supplying products across the country and abroad.

Yadav shared that the state is currently exporting goods worth Rs 76,000 crore across the seven seas. “We do not have any ocean around us, yet our products are reaching international markets. This is a matter of pride and joy for us,” he said.

Referring to the Gwalior-Chambal region, the Chief Minister noted that the entire belt, including the telecom sector and the Special Area Development Authority (SADA), is poised to develop into a major telecom manufacturing hub that will transform the country’s economy.

He expressed confidence that the Gwalior region would carve out a distinct identity in the coming years.

Recalling the past, Yadav said that due to bandit activity, the Chambal region once carried a different image. “Today, the Chambal region comprising Gwalior, Bhind, Morena, Datia and Guna is set to be recognised as the brightest industrial belt in the entire country. It will create employment opportunities and, through capability, skill and management, bring a new dawn into the lives of many people,” he said.

The Chief Minister expressed hope that the next Global Investors Summit would be held in January, with the Prime Minister expected to participate. He said continuous efforts are being made to make Madhya Pradesh the number one state in the country.

Because of sustained focus on industry and investment, Madhya Pradesh has become the state with the fastest growth in industry and investment and the lowest unemployment rate in the country, he added.

Patna, Nov 29 (IANS) The results of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections have deepened the internal fissures within the Grand Alliance.

After suffering a crushing defeat at the hands of voters, both the RJD and Congress have begun openly trading blame for the debacle.

Tensions escalated after a Congress review meeting in Delhi, where the party reportedly pointed fingers at the RJD for the defeat.

On Saturday, the rift widened further when RJD state president Mangani Lal Mandal publicly questioned the Congress’s status within the alliance.

Mandal asserted that the Congress won seats and secured votes only because of the RJD’s support.

“If Congress wants to chart a different political course, let it do so — it will then know its real strength,” he said.

He recalled that in 2020, Congress demanded 72 seats and contested 70, yet even the 19 seats it won were because of the RJD.

His remarks triggered renewed speculation about a possible breakup between the two parties.

Congress leaders sharply rebutted Mandal’s claim.

“If Congress is so weak, why does RJD keep us in the alliance?” a senior leader asked. They suggested that if Mangani Lal Mandal had concerns, he should have raised them with Tejashwi Yadav, the chairman of the Grand Alliance coordination committee, instead of airing them publicly.

In the 2025 Assembly polls, Congress contested 61 seats and managed to win only six. On more than ten seats, it also faced “friendly fights” with alliance partners, further weakening its prospects.

Meanwhile, RJD has called an important meeting of its MLAs on Saturday evening at the residence of Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav.

The meeting is expected to finalise the opposition’s strategy for the upcoming legislative session.

With tensions now out in the open, the dominant question in Bihar’s political circles is whether the RJD and Congress are heading toward a split — marking a major realignment in state politics.

UCO and Axis ATM heist case cracked, how ‘Jija-Sala’ duo looted public money

New Delhi, Jan 18 (IANS) A team of Delhi Police on Saturday claimed to have cracked an ATM heist case with the arrest of two people (‘Jija-sala’ duo) who revealed how they executed fraud to loot public money.

The police arrested them after days of manhunt and also revealed their modus operandi, explaining how they carried out ATM heist.

In the city’s Gandhi Nagar area, many people complained at the police station that cash was not dispensed from the ATM but the amount got deducted from their bank account.

The police formed multiple teams and launched a probe into the heist that saw many people turning into victims in the past few days.

Police nabbed the duo and also recovered stolen cash and tools used for the crime. It also seized a Maruti Brezza car, apparently used for scamming people coming to the ATMs.

Two accused have been identified as 28-year-old Ankush and 41-year-old Bidnesh, both believed to be habitual offenders.

Amount debited, but cash not dispensed

A complaint from UCO Bank Mahila Colony, Gandhi Nagar was received at the police station regarding tampering with the ATM. Many customers claimed that the amount was debited from their account but cash could not come out from the cash tray during the transaction.

The police formed a dedicated team and launched a probe in the vicinity of the installed ATM area.

When the complainant went to the UCO Bank ATM to withdraw cash, the machine showed “You can collect your cash”, but it didn’t come out.

How police cracked the case

During the investigation, the police team checked the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area and suspected a car parked near the ATM to be part of the scam. The two suspects were also found roaming in the area in the same car.

After the duo was caught, items like a cutter, tape, six plates ply and a stainless steel plate were recovered from them which they used to tamper with the ATM.

Modus Operandi

The duo, when interrogated, revealed that they fixed a ply under the ATM cash tray using adhesive tape, thus preventing the cash from being dispensed to the user.

Unaware of the scam, the user would leave the ATM, only to discover later that money has been debited from their account.

They also disclosed that they targeted the ATM of UCO Bank and Axis Bank maintained by Pune-based company Prerto. They also claimed to have cut the wire of the sensor to ensure that the notification could not be sent to the bank.

Tears turn to joy as Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai meets PM Awas Yojana beneficiary’s family

Surajpur (Chhattisgarh), Jan 19 (IANS) There was an emotional and inspiring moment at Surajpur when Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai visited the home of a beneficiary of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). The visit took place during the Chief Minister’s two-day tour of the district. The impact of the government’s housing schemes at the grassroots level was clearly visible there.

CM Sai visited the newly constructed house of Kalicharan, a resident of Manpur village, who built his permanent home with financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Impressed by the quality and design of the house, CM Sai praised Kalicharan and said it was heartening to see how beneficiaries are combining government support with their own efforts to build dignified homes.

During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted warmly with Kalicharan’s family. A touching moment was witnessed when Kalicharan’s young daughter, who had initially missed meeting the Chief Minister, became emotional and started crying. When she finally met him, the atmosphere turned joyful.

CM Sai said such moments reflect the true success of government schemes. “Seeing our government’s dream turning into reality gives me immense satisfaction,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister shared key figures related to the housing scheme. He stated that out of 18 lakh houses approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the state, nearly 8 lakh families have already received completed houses and have performed their griha pravesh.

He also informed that surrendered Naxalites are being provided an additional Rs 15,000 for housing support, and under the PM Janman Yojana, 32,000 more houses are set to be constructed. “Our government is continuously working to ensure that every eligible family gets a permanent house,” CM Sai said.

Kalicharan and his family expressed deep gratitude to the Chief Minister and the government. Recalling their hardships, they said earlier their kutcha house with a tiled roof used to leak during the rains, causing severe problems. “Today, we are living peacefully in a pucca house. We are extremely thankful to the Chief Minister and the government,” they said.
