‘Sairat’ actress Rinku Rajguru offers prayers at the revered Srivari temple in Tirumala

Mumbai, June 3 (IANS) Marathi star Rinku Rajguru, remembered for her heartwrenching performance in the 2016 film Sairat, sought divine blessings at the revered Srivari temple in Tirumala on the occasion of her birthday on Wednesday.

Rinku visited the temple with her family members during the VIP break in the morning. She visited the Moolavirattu in the sanctum sanctorum and later visited the mother of the Lord, Vakuladevi, and the family deities, offered gifts in the hundi, and paid obeisances. The temple staff presented her with the Lord’s Tirtha Prasad.

The 24-year-old actress, who was honoured with the Smita Patil Best Actress Award for her performance in the film Asha, visited the temple in an elegant navy blue saree. She greeted devotees with folded hands, posed for photographs, and happily interacted with fans, even stopping to take pictures with them.

The Srivari Temple in Tirumala is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

Rinku made her debut in cinema with “Sairat” in 2016. She tells the story of two young college students from different castes who fall in love, sparking conflict between their families.

The actress debuted in digital space through the action-comedy Hundred, released in 2020. In 2021, she was seen in 200 Halla Ho. The actress made her Bollywood debut with Jhund in 2022. After a series of flops, in 2023 she appeared in the successful film Jhimma 2, a film directed by Hemant Dhome and the second instalment in the Jhimma series.

The actress starred alongside Subodh Bhave in Better Half Chi Love Story. The same year, she also starred in the social film Asha.

Asha is directed by Deepak Patil. It also stars Sainkeet Kamat, Usha Naik, Shubhangi Bhujbal, and Suhas Sirsat. It tells the story of an ASHA health worker navigating personal and social challenges.

The film is centrally themed on patriarchy and the impact of superstitions on women’s reproductive rights, body autonomy and her health. At its heart, this is a film about women exercising agency within limited choices.

The Zee Cine Awards 2025 lit up Mumbai on May 17, drawing a galaxy of Bollywood’s brightest stars under one roof. The glamorous night featured head-turning appearances by Tamannaah Bhatia, Rashmika Mandanna, Kriti Sanon, Rasha Thadani, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Sooraj Pancholi. The show was packed with thrilling performances, and one of the standout acts came from Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, who shared the stage for an electrifying dance number. Aaryan further amped up the energy with his solo performance on the title track of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.’

The night was also a major career moment for Kartik, who took home two big awards. Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor took home the Best Actress (Female) trophy for her role in ‘Stree 2.’

Speaking of Kartik’s work front, the actor will be seen transforming into an Ichadaari Naag in fantasy thriller ‘Naagzilla.’ On April 22, the Freddy actor announced the film by unveiling his first-look poster on social media and captioned it, “I’ve seen many human stories, now watch a story of naags. #Naagzilla – Naag lok ka Pehla Kaand… Fun phailaane Aa raha hu main, Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki SsSsinemas mein. 4 August 2026 ko.”

“Naagzilla” will feature Kartik Aaryan in a unique and unexpected role as Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand — a shape-shifting (ichchhadhari) naag on a fantastical adventure. This one-of-a-kind fantasy comedy is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain.

The film will hit cinemas on Nag Panchami, August 2026.

For Simu Liu, ‘it means everything’ to work with Marvel Legends in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Los Angeles, Nov 16 (IANS) Canadian actor Simu Liu is running out of patience. The actor, who is ready to suit up again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, can’t wait to reprise his ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ role in the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.

The actor is currently on a press tour for his latest film, ‘In Your Dreams’, reports ‘People’ magazine.

He told ‘People’, “It means everything. It’s such a privilege to have played a character that resonated with so many different people”.

While praising fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and explaining how he’s “always gonna be beyond grateful” for their ongoing support, the Barbie star adds that the fans have propelled his career.

He further mentioned, “And part of that is like getting to put the suit back on again, except with these incredible legendary actors, many of whom I grew up idolizing and worshiping. Now, I get to call them my co-workers”.

Similar to the long list of stars in 2018’s ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’, the upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will bring back a slew of older and newer characters from the franchise.

As per ‘People’, Robert Downey Jr. will make his return to Marvel, not as Iron Man, but rather as main villain Doctor Doom. Other popular stars reprising their roles will be Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston and Letitia Wright. Additionally, characters from Thunderbolts and X-Men movies will be part of the film.

Much to MCU fans’ disappointment, Liu’s fan-favorite Shang-Chi has not appeared in any other Marvel movies since he was introduced four years ago in the well-received ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’.

“You’re not the only one that’s kind of felt that absence. Somebody tells me in some way, shape or form, I’m not kidding you, I’m not being hyperbolic, every single day of my life and oftentimes multiple times in a day”, he added.

The actor also revealed that the Shang-Chi cast routinely keeps in touch.

Shubh on new song ‘Together’: It’s a celebration of love that’s real and lasting

Mumbai, July 19 (IANS) Known for belting out hits such as “We Rollin”, “Elevated”, “Baller” and “Cheques”, Punjabi music artist Shubh, has announced the release of his new song, ‘Together’, which he says is a celebration of “love that’s real and lasting”.

Shubh said: “This song is about the genuine connections we forge with one another. It’s a celebration of love that’s real and lasting.”

He hopes the song inspires listeners.

Shubh added: “I hope it inspires listeners to appreciate all of their relationships and be grateful for the present moment.”

Shubh continues to expand his horizon by delivering romantic ballads with ‘Together’ following the success of tracks such as ‘No Love’, ‘Fell For You’, ‘You And Me’, ‘Her’ and ‘Once Love’.

As per a statement, In ‘Together’, Shubh employs a distinctive flow, enriched by smooth Latin guitar riffs, emotive lyrics, infectious melodies and traditional Punjabi folk elements to paint a vivid love story. Uplifting and evocative, the single illustrates the richness of shared experiences.

The release of ‘Together’ follows Shubh’s remarkable achievements in 2025. In January, he unveiled ‘Sicario’ a diverse 10-track project that debuted at No. 24 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart, amassing over 250 million streams across platforms since its release.

The album spans hard-hitting tracks like ‘Buckle Up’ and ‘Reckless’, seamlessly transitioning to melodic anthems such as ‘Aura’, ‘Bars’ and ‘Fell For You’.

Following the success of ‘Sicario,’ Shubh released ‘Supreme’ in April 2025. The song debuted on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 chart, reaching No. 1 on Apple Music India and Canada and the No. 3 spot on Spotify India within a month, currently attracting over 1 million streams per day.

Shubh, who was born in 1997 in Punjab, is now set to embark on ‘The Supreme Tour’ commencing next month in North America.
